Is there such a thing as a brush that is quiet? My little girl hates being brushed. I'm starting to think it's the noise she doesn't like. If I use the brush really slow and lightly so it's doesn't make the brushing sound she is fine. She is also fine if I use the comb on her. I'm really just guess. I wish she could tell me why she doesn't like it! Cindy |
My little yorkie does not like to be brushed either. And even when I brush lightly, she will cry. I know I be hurting her. I am very gentle. She hates to be combed also. I brush and comb my yorkie several times a day. Hoping eventually she will get used to being brushed and combed. I also use a grooming spray. |
Rhett doesn't like being brushed, so I have to wait until he's sleeping on the couch next to me to get it done. |

I usually brush/comb my boys in a room where the background sound of the furnace fan drowns out the noise. When I tried brushing once in my super quiet bedroom, the sound of the brush and comb bothered me. :) |
I used to give Rio treats while I brushed her so she associated the brush with good thoughts. My new puppy Bullet doesn't mind getting brushed at all, so hopefully I won't need to use treats. |
When the brush is making noise it is pulling and yanking at the trangles, that is probably why she doesn't like it. |
I can't help you here, I guess my brush is extremely quiet because mine always fall asleep. lol |
And mine hates being brushed or combed p.e.r.i.o.d!! |
Nala doesn't like it but I think that's just because she has to sit still lol. Bandit doesn't mind it, but if he sees me brushing my hair with my brush he gives me the "eyes" and LOVES when I use my brush to brush his hair lol. Can you say spoiled rotten :p |

I don't think she has that many tangles. She is only a few months old, so her hair is still on the short side. It must just be a noisy brush because it makes the noise when I run it on my hand. I even tried it on my own hair to see if maybe it was hurting her. It seemed OK to me. I might just try a different one to see if it helps. I'm glad I'm not the only one with brush phobia yorkies! LOL Cindy |

What kind of brush are you using? That could be the problem, not the noise. You need a good quality pin brush without balls on the tips as they snag the hair. Madan brushes are my favorites. toplinepet.com |
