My puppies are driving me crazy!!!!! Well I posted before about this. I have 2 yorkies one is 8 months and the other is 3 months. Well we just got Roman (8 month old)a few weeks ago from the pound. Our little puppy just terrorizes him. The will play and bite eachother for anywhere to 30 minutes to an hour. It drives me crazy. Plus Roman gets pretty rough with Dolce. But then when they are tired they will sleep next to each other. How can I get this puppies under control. When I snap my fingers they stop then they do it again. Please help!!!!!! |

My yorkie and chi do this. They honestly look like they get too rough with eachother and they play for a long time but it looks to me like they are just playing. DOes your little one seem to be playing? Or is it being more aggressive? Chloe was really playful at that age and still is but not as much. Now they do a lot more sleeping together ;) . It may just be a stage they have to grow out of. |
Both of mine play like crazy but they chase each other more then bite. |
I'm no expert, but at 3 months and 8 months I would guess they're still establishing the pecking order around the house. They should mellow out with age. I don't have a good short-term solution, though. It sounds like they're driving you nuts. I just let eddie and a chihuahua pal go at it every now and then. It sounds worse than it is. They sometimes get into some seemingly vicious battles, but neither has ever come out hurt. |
pups I have 3 pups..two are 15 weeks and one is 17 weeks...I sprintz them with Bitter Apple around their neck and ears..and butts. After an hour of non-stop wrestling, I need a break. LOL |
I will try that bitter apple. It's funny because when I say stop they stop and look at me. Or when I snap my fingers. But then they go right back at it. I hope it's just a stage. My little guy is the one that starts it. I put him in timeout in the bathroom sometimes but he comes out and runs for Roman and starts biting again. Any tips on stopping Dolce from starting the play??? |
tips All you can do is wait it out..trying to stop Yorkie pups from acting like puppies is impossible...right now mine are on the porch with a few cardboard shoe boxes and paper towel tubes I gave them..they are ripping and tearing like loins on an antolope... I will have a huge mess to clean up, but at least it keeps them occupied for a few hours and not fighting. |

Gracie and Boodah get into a LEAST one "free-for-all' a day and then pass out side by side. Sometimes it sounds like they are not playing, but they are. I usually hear a "yip" when things get really wild but thats usually their dog way of settling this on their own. I try to not get involved because this usually fires them up more!!!!!!!! |
This is all really reassuring. My 2 have been here for about a week and they are too cute but man, do they fight. All the time. It freaks me out. Sometimes I stop them but most of the time I try to stay out of it. sam&deesmom |

I yell at Parker to stop, but the reason I do is because I can't believe how dumb he is at times! Rowdy could eat him like a taco and Parker'd never know it. No one ever draws blood, so I just leave them alone, for the most part! They have their own pecking order, and I don't want to interfere with it. |

You can squirt them with a spray bottle thats what I do to my dogs if they are doing something and I want them to stop. |
