OK ... i think i'm gonna take the plunge ... but first i need to know.... ... what kind of nail clippers do you use?! :D b/c she is so tiny, i don't want to get the regular kind ... any suggestions for smaller versions? thanks!!! |
I don't use clippers, I have a Dremel. Works great and leaves no jagged edges. More efficient for my 6 pack!:D |

Betty Boop hates to have her nails clipped! I would rather do it myself but she is almost unmanageable. I have better luck clipping them before she wakes up and is still groggy (she's a real dead-head in the mornings!). I can get about 2 clipped each morning.:) |
I dremel too. |
We go to PetSmart inbetween groomings lol... that's how bad Bandit is with it:rolleyes: I tried that "as seen on tv" filer, and it seemed like it WOULD work IF the dogs weren't petrified of it. |
Yes, I bought one of the trimmers too. I think it's like a dremmel, only with a cover?. My dogs will not tolerate it. How do you guys do the dremmel? Is it just your dogs are good for you? |
You could get the kind that tell you if your too close to the quick or not. Otherwise just regular small dog clippers. Just do a tiny bit at a time...mine have black nails so I can't really see the quick. If Bijou's nails are white then you can probably see the quick. I also have a dremel. Good luck friend!!! :) |
Do you have a picture of the "Dremmel" ? |

Oops, I hit the submit button by mistake. To finish, my first Dremel was the Mini Mite cordless http://mdm.boschwebservices.com/MDMC...0/r00014v2.jpg. When that bit the dust I got the 7.2 Multipro cordless http://mdm.boschwebservices.com/MDMC...0/r00013v2.jpg which is just a little more powerful. I also have the 300 variable speed tool, but I prefer the cordless for nails. I use a sanding drum like http://mdm.boschwebservices.com/MDMC...0/r00164v2.jpg this with little sanding bands http://mdm.boschwebservices.com/MDMC...0/r00210v2.jpg that fit over the drum. You have to be VERY careful not to get either your's or your baby's longer hair caught in the Dremel. It might have to be cut if you do in order to get it untangled, and I speak from experience (my hair). :) |
My Vet told me Cat clippers..they look like cuticle scissors..They work great!! |
