When your upset, does your Yorkie pick up on it!? when your upset, does your yorkie pick up on it? I said something pretty stupid to my boyfriend last night, it came out totally wrong, and I was crying...as soon as I laid down on the bed, Fiona jumped up, came right up to me, and licked my tears away, and then just laid with me until I stopped. She is so smart and so alert when it comes to how people are feeling. Are any of your babies like this as well!? |
Anytime you are upset or crying, they'll come to you and try to make you feel better. I always say they have such big hearts!;) |
When I was crying on a high bed, Lexi jumped as much as she could.. Even falling down on her butt. It was if she wanted to get up there and comfort me. It was very sweet.. They pick up on our feelings like that. Side note: haha actually, I slapped my boyfriend on the butt and lexi barked at me like I had hurt him. :D |
Callie tries to distract people when there upset she will throw toys around and stuff and sometimes she will just jump on your lap and kiss you. |
Yes, when I'm sad or angry my boys look worried and try to comfort me. Hence, I try not to show too much negative emotion in front of them. I usually get down on the floor and play fetch to distract all of us. :) |
Peek a Boo knows many 4 letter words in English (from previous owner). I know, now you want to know how I found out? Well, I slipped one day and off he goes to hide under the bed. When he came back out, for test purposes only, I tried some other words, and as soon as I said a nasty, boom off he goes under the bed. Doesn't matter the tone of my voice... he knows the words. He also reads my face to see what kind of mood I'm in. (DH can't even do that!) Even if I yell at a cat, boom he's off under the bed! I keep telling him he's not a kitty, he won't believe me. He even comes when I call Here, kitty, kitty, kitty. (before they do) I own 3 retired Mommy dogs. OMG, the other day a news snipet came on that showed some puppies crying for their mom. It was so funny... 2 of my mommie dogs beat feet to get out from snoozing under my chair and stood in the middle of the room, looking all around for some puppies, and when they couldn't find any, they looked at each other as if to say 'You got puppies? I don't have any, so you must have puppies, aw com'on, where's the puppies? Please, show me the puppies!' I just got down on the floor and pretended I was crying. Tinkerbell came first and stuck her head under my arm while she rolled on her back, and started giving me kisses. Then, Infinity came in and started licking my ear. Then Peek a Boo snuck up on me and just stood there with a very concerned look on his face. And last but not least, Sapphire came bounding in and jumped on me, trying to get me to play with her.(Trying to make Mommie happy!) You just gotta love these guys and gals! |

Kaji doesn't seem to care. He'll look at me as if to say, "Just don't wake me up ok?" |

My 1st Lola, is so intuned with me and I love it, she is really a true girl friend! Lea sort of gets it and Gracie is just confused. |
Yes when I cry patches is right there Patches & Winnie |
Whenever I was upset or crying my little Heidi was right there in my face trying to make me feel better. I miss her so much and wish that she was still with me so she could wash away the tears I 'm still crying for her. |
Armani is extremely sensitive and very in touch with my feelings. If I were crying, she is very likely to respond the way that your baby responded. |
Kimbo is fast to lick away my tears. |
My Lil one definately knows when I am upset or not feeling well...she will always bring me her toys to hopefully make me feel better....she is such a sweetheart.... |
My pup is not usually a snuggler - unless I am upset/crying! He sits close to me and licks me and stays by me until I am feeling better. He does it to an extent when if "fake cry" too. I think it just makes him super curious. He is pretty much over snuggling with fake crying in about five seconds...:) |
Duke is the same way, he would come and lick my face or sits next to me if i'm crying. Also, when i'm sick or just not feeling well, he'll be less hyper and more cuddly. They are just too cute and understanding :) |
Kobe is cuddly all the time but he does know when I'm upset and sad. He's licked tears away a number of times. DH is military and currently away at training, I'm scared to death of thunder and usually end up tucked under DH. Kobe knows he isn't home and jumped in the bed, got as close to me as he could, licked my face and gave me the "mommy its ok go to sleep now look". I don't know what I'd do without him, my kids sleep through everything they're no help...LOL |
A couple of years ago my father passed away suddenly after routine outpatient surgery, My aunt was keeping his YorkiePoo Libby while he had surgery. Libby was fine and all of a sudden she went under the bed and started to whine. She could not be coaxed to come out...even with bits of hotdog. She was under there for about an hour when the phone rang, Me calling to report that sadly, unexpectedly that my dad had died after approximately 58 minutes of trying to re-start his heart. One year to the day later Libby passed away also. She never got over it, was never the same. This still gives me the shivers. I am crying as i write this! I know in my heart that Heaven allows dogs in! If not i do not want to go! |
Now I'm getting jealous! Does anyone know where I can take Kaji to sensitivity training? :p |

both my dogs know when I am upset or aren't feeling well. When I am sick Pixie will crawl under my chin and keep licking my face sometimes I am like enough already I am going to live. I guess if I didn't have all that love Id be lost:D Daisy just tends to stay by my side and when she knows I am sad she wil kiss me and sigh a lot. I too try not to get sad or cry over things bc they are so tuned into it. gotta love the doggie unconditional love;) |
My Boo Boo is always the first one there for me when something is wrong. The second I start to get upset or anxious he jumps into my arms and scurries up to my collarbone and curls up there, nuzzling my neck. If I'm crying he is licking my tears away, and if i'm in a happy mood he is dancing around by my feet. He really is the best person I know. |
Maddie is very "in tune" with my emotions. She seems to take on the mood I am in. Given, she is always up for a nap, she ALWAYS lays with me if I am not feeling well. Just last night we watched that movie Up, omgish I cried so hard. (Saddest movie I've watched in a long time.) My husband was laying in our bed just trying to console me and Maddie came and wiggled in right between our chests and started licking my face. Now, I think Cooper would just lick my tears b/c they're salty. :p |
My husband passed away suddenly a year and a half ago at age 47. We live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. When I got home after being at an out of town hospital with him for 4 days, my Maddie never left my lap. She is the type that barks when someone walks past the window facing the street and runs to the door everytime the doorbell rings. She also runs to greet anyone that walks in our house. During this time, she never left my lap. I have many, many, people coming to the house to offer condolences, bring food, etc. She never moved off my lap or barked at anyone or anything. The only time she would move would be if someone walked behind the chair I was sitting in, then she would jump up to the back of the chair and stand there as if she were protecting me, but not acting aggressive. I have two teenage daughters still living at home. At night, my Maddie will rarely bark. It takes a thunderstorm or really loud noise to get her to react. However, if the girls are gone at night and just she and I at home, it seems she hears every little noise all night long. I don't know if she is protecting me, or if she thinks I can't protect her!!! |
