I'm so nervous I am a nervous wreck! Isabella is getting spayed and having some teeth extracted tomorrow, I am so worried about the anesthesa. I read a poll on YT last night about whether or not to spay your dog, most of the replys were great, but there was one that scared me , someone said her friends dog died while being spayed :(. Now I am scared to death. I know I am doing the right thing, I had a terrier (not a yorkie) who passed away from cancer 2 years ago, and she was not spayed, I was told spaying your pet lessons the chances of that. SO WORRIED!!! Isabella's Mom |
I read the same post and was as frightened as you when Bridget was being spayed about 2 months ago. Everyone here was so reassuring and sent prayers our way which I truly believe helped - at least their kind words helped me get through the day. I did have the blood work done though - I figured that I wasn't going to take a chance over $60 - she is worth way more than than to me. Isabella will be just fine - you'll see...this is going to be much harder on you than on her. Let us know when you hear back from your vet - in the mean time...I'm sending prayers your way for her fast recovery as well as for you - you'll definately need them after you get her home - trying to keep her calm after the first day! |
DamSweet is right, it is much harder on us than them. They are very resilient and bounce right back. You will be giving her lots of TLC before you know it.:) |

Like the others said do the blood work and make sure the vet is using the proper anesthesia and she should do great. It is harder on us than them. I will keep her in my prayers. |
Thank you all so much, I am going to call my Vet right now to ask about the bloodwork and the sevoflurane < I'm assuming that is the type of anesthesia?I appreciate all of your feedback. I love being part of YT!!! Thanks again!!! Isabella's Mom Just got off the phone with the Vet, he uses the anesthesia that was mentioned and they do , do pre bloodwork. I feel better now :) |
I know how you feel. I felt the same way before Roxy's spay. She did just great! By the next day I was still a nervous wreck, cuz she felt way too good for the day after, imo. I was freaking cuz she was back 100%... and I'm supposed to keep her quiet for several days??? Oh my. She did just fine, and I recovered. : ) Wishing you both the best!!! |
