4 Attachment(s) My brother and his wife just adopted a chocolate Schnauzer puppy and named her Maggie. So as a "welcome to the family" gift, I made her a place mat. It's definitely harder to make a Schnauzer recognizable than it is to cross-stitch a Yorkie!!! I attached a couple of pictures of Maggie, too. Chloe will meet her new "cousin" for the first time this weekend. I'm so excited! :D Here's hoping all goes well and that Chloe will behave herself! -C |
That is adorable! :) |
Oh soooo cute, and I think you could sell them in a heartbeat...Of course, you could never get paid for what they are truly worth...However, just for fun, make another one, and keep track of the time it takes to make it...If it takes 30 hrs., maybe charge $1 an hr., plus the cost of the material...I think if someone really wanted one, they'd pay $40 for something so special and personalized...If you would have to charge more than that, it'd probably be priced out of the market...Being in retail management, for over 20 years, it's all about what someone is willing to pay, and how much one is willing to sell their product for...Personalized things bring a premium, compared to mass production...Let us know what you decide...I'm sure you would get order requests...:) |

I can promise you I would pay $40 for one of those. That is so adorable. My baby is worth it and deserves it. I am already thinking how I can enclose it in plastic. I would use it everyday on the floor. I'm not kidding. I'm so afraid I'll lose this post forever. What is the name of Mary's book? OH, I just love it! Let me know if you'll even consider it. I am fully aware that I need a brain transplant for even wishing for something so fabulous but it matches my kitchen so all of the ladies totally understand that makes it a necessity. Right? Just nod your head. |
Nice work congratulations. Chloe is one lucky girl to have such a talented mommy. I tried cross stitching once and I don't have the patience for it. |
A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E. You could always place between 2 clear plastic mats if you could find them. Great job! They are so pretty, I would hate for them to be ruined too. I use to cross stitch all the time & did projects for gifts. It's so nice....years later, to see them still with the special people it was presented to.:) |
Good job! |
Thanks! It's actually very relaxing to do. With Chloe's place mat, I sewed a piece of matching material on the back of it so I wouldn't have to worry so much about it being on the floor. And they also make a fabric protection spray that might help keep the front side clean. I've been using Chloe's now for a couple of months and it isn't dirty yet. The material is actually a flexible vinyl, not cloth, so it doesn't hold stains or dirt. As far as selling them, I'd certainly be glad to if anyone is seriously interested in ordering one. It takes me about 10 to 14 days to make one and I can do them in just about any combination of colors. Seven letters is all I can fit into the middle for the name. I think $40 would be pretty reasonable, plus shipping which I don't think would be too much because they are pretty light weight. -C |
