Lexi's getting spayed! I'm nervous! Lexi is getting spayed on Wednesday, I'm so nervous. I hope she will be ok. Any spaying stories to help me know what to expect? |
Believe me I know how you feel. It's scary to leave them there. The best advice I have is when you pick her up, do it under her butt and chest. Try not to pick her up from the underarms, ya know? That will stretch her little belly and hurt her. She will be groggy the first day and look soooo pitiful. Be the next morning my babies were pretty much back to their normal self. Good luck and wishing your baby a speedy recovery  |
It is very stressful when our babies are being spayed/neutered. They are stronger than we think they are, and they bounce back pretty quickly. The vet should give you all the information you need so that Lexi has a quick recovery. It will be over before you know it and have the TLC ready.:) |
Lucy and I just went through this last week! She was still groggy when I brought her home last tuesday..but by wednesday she was back to normal! Like mentioned above..I pick her up by holding her chest and butt..But she is already almost all the way healed. The worst part is the cone on her head :):). |
thanks guys! I'll keep my fingers crossed till its all over. i heard they sometimes they dont even need cones. What do you think? |
She will be fine, and it will be harder on you than her. Make sure they do a blood panel, and that your vet has a lot of experience with small dogs. |
Mabel is going in Thursday(June 11 ) so i am feeling your apprehension. These itty bitty babies are a lot hardier than we think! We will ALL be okay!! Just remember it is for their well being. Hard i know when they look at you with their big brown eyes all pitiful:(...can't help but feel bad for putting them thru the ordeal! But they do heal really fast! Hang in there!:):) |
I know how you feel. Lexi will be fine. She'll be sore for a day or two. No jumping or running for a day or two. She'll be quite uncomfortable tomorrow night, if you are bringing her home the same day. I love to baby them when they are recovering. More spoiling can never hurt. Just a little food and a little water if you are bringing her home tomorrow night. Don't want to risk her throwing up. |
I have 4 and none of them used a cone, but I was home with them all day. At night I used a onesy on them. |
