What would you do? So this is where I am standing right now and not sure what I should do next. My Tucker has never been a real good eater for me but lately he seems to be sticking his nose up to his food more than before. If I am lucky I can get him to eat his food at night but not usually in the morning. When we go for our walks in which he is all excited about going he gets home and is panting way more than my other two and he just lays down until he calms down, but it seems as thought he pants more than before. I called my vet on Saturday but she wasn't in but I am going to ask her if there are some other test that maybe we should run on him. He has never had a bile acid test done so maybe we should do that hopefully she won't discourage it. What would anyone else do? Or am I just overreacting? |
how old is he and how much does he weigh? i have a self regulating eater. she mostly eats at night when she's hungry. i don't worry about it. she's a little less then 5 lbs and 4 years old. she's eaten this way most of her life. i figure if she's not losing weight, and she's pooping regularly then she must be getting enough food. |
for 6 years Lexie has turned her nose up at almost everything I've tried to feed her. Then about 2 mos ago in an effort to get Madison to lose some weight, I switched to Primal raw food ( chicken or venison) and acana kibble. I no long am throwing away dog food every day. They both chow dowwwn at breakfast and dinner time. I"m so happy that I've found food thatthey enjoy so much. Good luck with your baby, I hope its a matter of being finickey vs. something health wise not right. |
Tucker is 13 months old and about 11lbs. I have tried so many different foods my pantry is like a dog food store. I get kind of concerned about his heavy breathing after excercise now in which he wasn't doing before either. Thanks for your feedback. |
I've heard that if you heat the kibble up with a little bit of water it releases more of the smell and that is more appetizing to doggie picky eaters! It works for me on days when my little Midi doesn't want to eat. |
