Hello Hello every one . My name is sherri and i have just joined today. What bought me to this site is because i have an 11 year old yorkie called Bonnie boy and he has lymphoma and only has days left according to the vet. His pal Pippa Dee was my 9 year old yorkie who stopped eating for a couple of days when Bonnie boy was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I put this down to stress with Bonnies behaviour but i toook her with Bonnie to the vets. They operated on him and took away his testicle and took bloods to confirm the lymphoma. Pippa also had blood taken and was confirmed straight away with renal failure and was put to sleep 2 days after. This was the biggest shock i have ever had, she was my baby girl. The vet said it was the kindest thing to do for her because she had a couple of days left that would be horific for her. Bonnie is still with us but has good days and bad. Today is a bad day up to now and just wondered if anyone out there could advise anything at all to do with him during these final days to ease his pain . Yesterday i thought the vet was wrong, he gave him 2 weeks on the 19th May, the day pippa went to sleep. He was so active yesterday as though he was a puppy again but today he is quiet and sleeping. To lose 2 in the same year will be heart breaking, it's not the same without Pippa here but we are trying for the sake of Bonnie now. He is on medication of steroids but only one tablet a day now. Any remedies out there that could let me keep Bonnie longer ? Any advice appreciated. Thank you |
Welcome to YT. I am so terribly sorry for all this tragedy and can only imagine your heartache. I'm sure that there will be some members who will be able to offer knowledgeable advice on your Bonnieboy. Having not experienced anything similar I'm sorry I cannot offer any advice ... my impulse would be to hold him in my arms for what time is left. Just know that I will keep you all in my prayers. God bless and comfort you during this trying time. |
Welcome and here's a huge hug for you from clear across the continent. I hear and feel the pain you are experiencing. I lost my Cassie a couple years back to a fast moving lymphoma. But you are dealing with a second crisis as well. I have no advice other than have the vet prescribe pain meds. If these are not working and your baby is suffering, then you know it is time. Bless your heart for having to endure this. Kisses for your little one and hang in there. I know it is of no comfort now, but time will help. Everyone here at YT probably has had similar experiences, so do not hesitate to come back and talk and cry with us as you get thru this. Huge hugs for you and smooches for your darlin |
Awww sweetie, I am so very sorry for your loss/losses. How heartbreaking for you. I don't have any advice for you but I can feel your pain. I have had to have several pts over the years and it has never been easy....but I never wanted to let them suffer. Prayers for you and your baby. By the way, welcome to YT. |
Welcome, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine going through so much in such a short time. I will be praying for you and your babies, I hope he has no pain in his final time. I wish I could take yours away too. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. |
