I have a girlfriend who is turning 50 this weekend and she wanted to have all the girlfriends meet up at a girlfriends house in Florida. Now this girlfriend has a 70 pound lab who adores my girls and I feel so at home in her house, so any excuse will do for me and the girls to fly.
As I was looking at the flights the closer it got to the date for me to go, the worse they were looking. So some co- workers said go home and pack and try this evening. I rushed home and threw some things in a suitcase and threw the girls together in their carrier and off to the airport we went to try to fly that evening.
These two really important looking executive types came walking up, all Armani suited down and one glanced over at me and the girls and came running over.
Usually it is Maya that gets all of the attention since she is so small, but he grabbed Mika. "Oh she looks just like Barney. May I take a picture to send my wife? Barney was 18 and he died two months ago. He was blind and deaf. We were going out and my wife let him outside. When we got home, he was in the bottom of the pool. I dove in and gave him mouth to mouth. We have a vet 24 hour clinic around the corner and we rushed him there, but he was gone."
"Oh I am so sorry, I bet your wife blames herself"
"She does, she cries every day over it."
"I wonder if she is ready yet, I want to get her another yorkie."
His phone beeps because the wife has gotten the picture of my girls he sent her. Her message says : Bring them both home with you.
"She's ready" he says.
"I have already been looking for good breeders back home and I want to get her another yorkie. THey are so smart, they are so special."
I told him that even if we don't get on this plane, I am glad the girls and I came to the airport this evening to help you.
We did get on, and we are here in FLorida with the 70 pound lab. But yorkies do touch people don't they? |
