RILEY is home and doing GREAT!!!

They did fine at the meet up...both ignored each other

Of course, once I brought him home she was not happy but wasn't too bad with him.

I have an x-pen set up in my room with his food, water and crate. Not sure if he's fully potty trained?? But no accident so far...so that’s great news...

He's very shy, scared and nervous. I'm having a hard time getting him to use the doggie dog but it will take time for him to get comfortable here...

I have a dog walker coming today to take the two out for a walk...

I was walking them yesterday and my neighbor asked if they were brother and sister...they do look a lot alike.


I do need some help...
He has really bad breath..he has some tarter buildup..not a ton...Which chews should I get? I forgot the name...is it CET??

I tried giving some of the petzlife oral gel...he didn't like it...neither does Lola. I got the mint flavor..should have gotten the beef flavor...

I will post some pic later...the two are going to the groomer on Sunday for haircuts :)

Oh, I was reading his paper work and he has a bebe (SP) stuck on his right side...someone shot him with an airgun...I will need to have it removed during a dental cleaning. Also, he has a heart murmur..its only a grade 2 and may never affect his overall health...not too worried..Just happy I was able to save this little guy

This is Fantastic. I know they will love each other in time. I cried reading this knowing you rescued this baby and now he will have a wonderful home.

We do not use the CET chews but I've seen them at the vet. We use the CET toothpaste and it works great (we go for vanilla mint and they are just so kissable after).

Also if his breath is bad, it could be from his diet that he has been on- try some HC for a few days - I'd feed him some white meat chicken, sweet potatoes and green beans and I'd mix some chopped fresh mint and parsely into the mixture and that should help. This won't be balanced but for a few days to a week you will be ok.

I just ordered the CET chews and toothpaste.

He been eating Science Diet..not the best but I will wait a week for him to settle in before I start the change in his kibble.

I will also add some of your suggestions :)

i think the best thing to do for his breath is a dental. then you can start from scratch. However since he has a heart murmur you need to make sure your vet is experienced enough to anesthetize a small dog with a murmur. if your sure about him doing it then i'd look for a board certified dentist. also as i'm sure you know, have a full blood panel done before hand as well.

A dental may be the best thing but I'm going to try the chews first. Not sure I want to put him through too much right now. He's still very shy and jumps at every noise. We have a long road ahead of us but I can't wait for the outcome at the end.

He was already try to hope in the bed and snuggle this morning. He a great little guy!
