My Ruby acts the same way. So sweet on the outside, she plays coy with other dogs, then as soon as they come near her, she lets out a big bark and lets them know who's the boss. She's not overtly aggressive; she's passive-aggressive. She will slink around my Westie (he's the alpha) but somehow, she ends up with all the toys; all the attention; and cannot stand it if someone tries to pet him. She'll try and slink in between Ringo and the person who is showing him attention. She'll run in front of him if I am handing out treats. She bites his ankles when I am putting his leash on.
Every now and again - he reminds her he is boss. It's all talk - but it's LOUD. I hate to reprimand him . . cause she usualy deserves it! |
