How do you break a 16 mth old from going on rugs after being trained on washable pads :eek:I never thought this could be so hard...Brady is going on all the rugs thinking they are his pads. I have taken them up for now, but he is still having a hard time going on the regular pads. I know I will have to retrain him but I never would of thought it would be this bad. Any advice... Help??? |
Do you use the scent spray on your washable pads? My boys are pee pad trained and I believe the reason I have never had problems with them going on rugs is that our disposable pads are treated with a scent. Thus, the boys can discern the difference between pee pads and rugs. The scent says, 'do your business here.' :p |
Another tip for perfect potty success: if you don't already, always give praise when the dog does things correctly. Never stop giving praise. Maybe a small treat too. My younger boy still requires a kibble for each trip. He doesn't work for nothing. ;) |

LOL...My Apple won't come in, from outdoors, w/o a treat...I'm sure praise works for most pups, but my girl says, "show me the grub"...:animal36 |
