Guys and little dogs Does your sig. other bathe, walk, play with your yorkie? I usually do the bathing, grooming, dressing up, etc but my bf is having bonding time with Teddy and he was giving him a bath which I rarely see him do and I just found it sooooo sexy and cute! haha He also takes him to the dog park and Teddy loves it! He goes crazy at the dog park because there is so much room for him to run. It's def. nice to see them bond. |
too cute That is just too cute!!! Actually "my girls" are really my BF's babies. He will do everything for them!!! Gotta Luv a Man who isn't afraid to walk little dogs by himself;) |
I always hear my husband in the other room "baby talking" to Pasquale..its too cute. :D |
My husband and Rhett are good buddies. He's always taking pictures on his cell phone and sending them to me :) |
Lexi was mainly my boyfriend's yorkie. And my man's like 5'10 so when he plays with her, it was the sweetest thing in the world. He bathed her, combed her, even had clothes for her. Lexi was spoiled by him and I loved it. |
2 Attachment(s) Yes! My DH cuddles, feeds and loves on Couver all the time. I do the bathing and dressing up, but my husband loves having his Couver time :D It is definitely very sexy... Here are some examples (he would kill me if he knew I was posting these :p): |
My DBF was really not thrilled when I took Roxie in. He claims he's not a dog person. However, it didn't take long for him to come around. He walks her more than I do now, plays on the floor with her, and when I go upstairs I hear him talking to her :) And she just LOVES him! |
My husband loved our dogs; their antics kept him amused and he loved the kisses. They helped keep him alive. It always brought tears to my eyes and a lump to my throat to see them... I'd post a pic, but apparently they're too large. But trust me on this: he sure did love those little dogs. |
I feed Maxine and Carlo, walk Carlo, and will carry maxine on her mile walks (she walks a block and gets carried for 7 blocks). I do not bath or groom her. My wife does that, but I will take her to the Groomer for a cute and wait for her when my wife is busy. I never have mastered the bows, dresses, etc. Carlo is easy.....leash and lets go. Sort of like the difference between a man and a woman getting ready to go out. If we start at the same time, I am done, and can read the paper, cut the grass, sweep the garage, check the oil and clean the windows in the car, and I still wait another 10 minutes on top of that. She will then ask...HOW DO I LOOK? I say the same you did an hour ago, but now you have a bit of lipstick on. Ok ladies, bring it on! |
My husband does a lot with our fur babies except bathe them. He never did want a doggie in the house, but he couldn't help but fall in love with them. Yorkies are just irresistible. :aimeeyork |
Funny you mention this.... My nephew, age 23 and his roommate, age 21, went to a kill shelter wanting to rescue a dog. They were thinking about getting a pitbull and walked out with a 2 y/o chihuahua! :D They did such a great job choosing the sweetest dog. I'm so proud of them! Today I spent 3 hours with my nephew. He wanted to learn the proper way to introduce his dog and said he wanted our Guinness to be his first. He had so many questions- nutrition, treats, insurance, grooming, bugeting and starting a saving account for the dog, training, supplies etc., it just came rolling out of his mouth nonstop. I'm meeting him this weekend. On Saturday, he wants to check out our dog training club. On Sunday, we're shopping for supplies which includes getting better dog food. |

My nephew will not have a problem admitting he can be somewhat self centered, loud and obnoxious, but there he was, all 220 lbs. of him- gentle, tender and loving towards this little dog. The last thing he said/asked before he left... I want to be a good dog owner, do you think I can be one? |
Sorry for the duplicate. I posted before I finished writing. |
My DH LOVES Bailee. He works from our home so he gets to be with Bailee all day. Brent takes him to the bank and anywhere he goes during the day while I am at work. |
Mine too! He will do baths, grooming, but he hasn't gotten the hang of the topknot. Topknots are only for special occasions anyway.:p He doesn't mind walking Uni himself, in fact they go running at the park several times a week. Doesn't mind walking her while she's wearing a bow, coat, shoes, etc. But he does draw the line at dresses, and i will have to agree. Uni's legs are just too long to look right in a dress. Quote:

This is exactly what happened to me. My girlfriend bought a Yorkie last October, and although I was never a "dog person" I fell in love with the little guy the first time I saw him...and I eventually went out and got my own little guy this past March. |
My hubby does pretty good about loving on the dogs, but that is pretty much it. :( He doesn't do any of the care unless I am away. Now I feel so sad after seeing what everybody elses men do! |
My hubby didn't want another dog (we had just put down our other dog about 3 weeks before I got Jack). I told him I was "just going to look" at the puppies. I wasn't expecting to get a yorkie that day, but couldn't help but fall in love with Jack's little face - he only weighed 1.25 pounds at 12 weeks! When I walked through the door, I simply held Jack in one hand and said, "How could not love this little guy?" Yep - hubby fell in love, takes him for walks, when Jack's hair was longer, hubby would pull it up in a ponytail, he feeds Jack, has taught him several commands and does the baby talk to him too. Oh and they even take naps together when I'm not home. :D |

I was at the vet one time and there was a man there - he had to be at least 6' 5", really big and he had a little tiny chihuahua and was all lovey dovey with it. I thought, now that's a man! :) |
My guy loves all animals ansd he can't wait to pick up Twinky.. we have 2 Teddy widder Rabbits.. and he does the baby talk to them we have a boy and a girl.and then i got Fred the boy he said..hmmmm I need a daughter too. So we picked up Fred's half sister.. now he goes. "look how sweet my baby is., thats my daughter.. daddy's little girl.. " its funny to see and thats why Im also very excited that he can't wait to pick Twinky up. He said to me., hmm we need to have a cozy bed for her etc. And then last night he said. i don't mind if Twinky sleeps in the bed.. :) but a man that does baby talk to animals is cute. Also he is pretty tall my man and is a musician ,. singer and gitarist. |

That's my over 300 lb hubby with our 5 lb yorkie in my avatar. His dog is an even littlier chi at 4.5 lbs. that he named Puff. He loves to cuddle them at night before bedtime. If I bathe them, he is right there with me doing most of it. It is so cute to watch him with them. |
my hubby was the one who brought Hot Rod home as a Christmas gift. He was the one who bathed him when he was little...I was afraid I was going to break him he was so small. He also walks them, puts sweaters/jackets on them if necessary. I only get a 1/2 hr for lunch so hubby went home to get Maggie, well he put her pink princess sweater only brought her to her vet appt. lol |

Yea, my DH didn't want a dog in the house either, but after 16 years of marriage and 7 years in our house, he finally relented . HE decided to get a yorkie and Neo has been our "son" ever since! DH will kiss him on the top of the head and walk around with Neo like he is a baby. He may say,"Look at this spoiled sumb***h" , but its with a smile and a twinkle in his eye!:D |
