Newbie. Hi everyone. I just joined today. Our little girl is Brandy and Our boy is Bailey. Having trouble trying to stop Brandy from going potty in her cage. Some times she will other times no mess. Bailey caught on right away no problems. Little girl is alot harder to train for some reason. Any suggestions? John and Betty:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Welcome John, Betty, brandy and Bailey to the YT family! No suggestions but I know there will be many people who come on to comment with great advice! Hang in there! :-) |
Welcome to YT. Make sure she only has enough room to turn around and lay down. That may help stop her. |
Tried to make the cage smaller and she still messed in it. dont know why. Maybe she is stubborn. lol |
Hello and welcome to YT! How old is Brandy and at what times of day does she usually mess in her cage? If she's very young it may just be something she'll outgrow. Also, have you ruled out the possibility of a health problem? |

How large of a cage do you have Brandy in and how long are you keeping her inside the cage? Have you considered using and Xpen instead and putting a potty pad down inside the Xpen? They both can be in there together since it is large enough for two. |

Yep, What everyone said is the same as I thought. Try a smaller cage. :) |
I have a small cage with a divider and have tried the divider which makes cleaning her up afterwards worse. She is now almost 1 year old. We love her to pieces and wont give up on her. Our boy dog was so much different. Very easy to housebreak. Is it just girls? that are hard to train?:aimeeyork |
oh and i have tried coming home for lunch and letting her out then come back home from work 2-3 hours later and she peed. Oh boy. Usually she isnt in the cage for more than 7-8 hours. She sleeps with us at night and can hold it all night long. I think its seperation anxiety. poor little thing doesnt like us out of her sight. |
