My Yorkie doesn't like her harness... I find that every time I'm about to take Lexi for a walk, I get her harness to put on her and she always looks like she's playing and barking after it, and I always have to pick her up in order to put it on her. Does this mean she doesn't like her harness? Maybe she'll grow out of this stage? Any Ideas? |
Mine always would bite on their harness when I put it on but they love to go on walks and know when I bring it out it means their going somewhere. They get used to it in time |
That's encouraging :) Mine's a harness biter as well  |
Lizzie use to do this. Every single time I got the leash and halter out. I finally dug in my heals and when I got the leash and halter out, I would just stand there while she went berserk running around. I'd repeatedly ask the question if she wanted to go with me and to let me put her leash on, until she finally, sort of came up to me and let me put it on, although at first I did have to go to her a little. Now she knows that we don't go anywhere and I won't move until she comes to me and lets me put the halter on. The first couple times it took her forever to realize what the deal was, so if you try this, give yourself plenty of time. She still does a happy run, but it a quick one. |
Pixie did at first bite it, but, being that she wears her harness 24/7, she doesn't even bite it anymore. The only time it is taken off is when she gets a bath. When we get ready to put it back on her, she just steps into it. |

Lexi also used to bite her harness, so i had to buy a sturdier one. |
Shayna does that she just get so exited, she can't wait to put it on lol:p she is so silly:aimeeyork |
Couver used to not like his harness... but with consistent positive reinforcement, he began to understand that when he wore it, he got to do fun things. They learn quickly :) Don't worry! |

it does making the whole act a bit of a chore but that's because I work all day and by the time I get home they're ready to rock and roll |
