Coming or going??? I'm sure others have seen the same thing, as it seems to be a trait, but when Chloe comes to me ( whether it's me that initiates it or her ) and I stop to pick her up....WHY does she dart away??? ( and she's not afraid of us ) It's this constant back and forth that's maddening and I'm not sure how to stop it. Does yours do the same? Anyone figure this out? Thank you |
Mine have always done that if they didn't want to get picked up.:D |
Yes, Bonnie does that too. I think it is some kind of "play" on her part, but it does drive me crazy sometimes. If she really wants to be picked up, she turns her back and sort of backs up to me. I will say "Bonnie, let me pick you up" and she will turn her back to me to be picked up. |
If Buster wants to be picked up, he will run a few times before he eventually comes back or I will go get him. If Maggie wants to be picked up, she will turn around and put her back to me. |
Oh yes, my Ruby plays hard to get too! |
Bridget does the same thing - I thought I was doing something to scare her or that she was just being a stinker...glad to see it's not just us! |
Yup, Jackson does this, too. I don't know if it's a game, or if he doesn't want to be picked up. But he does it all the time  |
Gypsy does it too. Also the turning her back to us when she does want to be picked up. |
You all are not alone...if Zhoie evidently doesn't want picked up...it's like she shies away. But now, if she comes to me or when I say "up" and she wants to, she does the turn around thing and give me her back too. It's like they assume the postion. lol |
Sometimes Muffin quickly scoots back if I reach for her too, but not Boomer. Muffin also turns her back to me when she knows I'm getting ready to pick her up. :) |
Roxy does this too all the time, but if I coax her up onto a chair she will willingly let me pick her up & seem excited about it. Go figure! I think it's a game. When she was younger, she would go down on her right shoulder & turn herself in circles managing to keep just out of reach... probably chuckling to herself the whole time. : ) |
