suddenly barking like mad. O.K. so hear is the deal. i just moved a lot of things come together at once and it seemed like a good time so i picked up and moved in 9 days into a nice ranch style house i can live in rent free for two years. we have a huge backyard and a very open floor plan it is great for the kids and the dogs now the down side Gatsby who has always been a very quiet little thing has taken to standing on the window ledge of any window facing the front of the house and barking for no reason at all sometimes he will hear a noise but most often he is just barking. im getting very frustrated now the neighbors across the street have a Schnauzer a scotty and a min pin doxie mix but they are never at the front of the house they are in there backyard wear we cannot see them. the neighbor on the right side of me has a sheltie and westie but they are in the back so it would make more sence for him to be in windows facing the rear of the house. thear is a highschool about two doors down but he dose not seemed bothered early in the morning or when the kids get out of school i think he might be insecure in the new house and it trying to tell everyone that he is in charge and not to mess with the family but i don't know how to stop it. the other dogs are fine. thanks for your advice |
The Bark Repeller from Pet Parade is awesome! There's a thread somewhere on here about it and it nearly worked for everybody. My dad just received it from Amazon.com and he has 2 barkers, so when I bring Jackson over, he also barks more. I was just over there yesterday, and it's soooo much more peaceful. It just emits a sound that they don't like, and humans can't hear it (unless you put it right up to your ear). Use a word like 'quiet' along with it, and soon you won't need the remote. My dads neighborhood has a lot of loose dogs roaming around so that was a huge reason for ours barking.... my step-mom said she brought it on her walk with her and her dogs usually bark like crazy at other dogs on walks and all she did was hit the noise and they stopped! |
I was just going to suggest the same thing. Glad it is working for you with Jackson and your dad's house. I don't use it that often anymore but it sure was worth the $12! |
It's possible he is hearing something you don't. |
sorry it took so long but i had kid problems i had to deal with he may be hearing something i dont but i think i will try the bark repeller since people liked it i am always worried with a new product |
I also have a barker, I tried the noise repellant, the citronella spray, bottle with coins, putting him in the crate when he barks, nothing has worked. Good luck. |
I too have the Dog Repeller and it is AWESOME! Not only does it stop the barking, it stops Toby from running up to people trying to nip them! Like megansmomma said, well worth the $12+................ |
