Question on Yorkie coat... My little boy, "Slightly" is 15 months old. His hair is long but thin. When I comb him there is a lot of peach fuzz..looks like lint really that comes out in the comb. Is he losing his puppy hair? Does this ever quit?? I can not figure out if he is a cotton or silk...I believe cotton..but then it looks silky when first bathed and brushed...then he usually has bed head look...lol....like I say his hair is long and thin...not wooly and thick at all like some I have seen. Can anyone help me with these questions? |
Yes, the fuzz is puppy coat. Sometimes small mats look like fuzz too. It will stop. From the sound of your description...he's silk coated. |
Generally the cotton coat is very thick, and not very shiny at all and of course feels and mats like a cotton ball. My Azrael is a cotton coat. Your baby may still be losing some puppy coat, but it could also be the lack of Omega fatty acids in the diet. Could also be the shampoo. You should always use a conditioner as well. |
Thanks guys! i have yet to find a shampoo I really am crazy over. I have used Pantene, Mane and Tail, Chris(don't remember the name but it was for dogs) and Still searching.... The omega fatty acids...is that in pill form or in his food? I need to check on that too. He is such a picky eater. I thought he may be a silky coat, but I just wasn't sure..... |
I'm here brushing my girl and reading this. Sounds like your describing her :p |
