Yes, I was actually looking for a place around me (Anaheim) for a place to cut Katie's nails. She won't let me do it.

Many places I have tried bc of good reviews from yelp. One tip though, make sure you check the dates the review was posted. For some reason they are not in order of date posted. I think they filter them by who has the most reviews (the more trustworthy the reviewer is). For example a disgruntled customer could go and leave a bad review, then get a bunch of their friends to leave bad reviews for a place, but that's not really fair bc the friends didn't have first hand experience. Kind of like when a newbie comes on here with one post and defends a byb. LOL

thanks!! i looked last night and a place near me was recommended, so i'll see about them. they were recommended to me originally as a vet by someone i know and trust, but i didn't know they offered grooming services.

ok, so she's at the groomers, it's like 2 blocks from me!! i walked her over...

i met the groomer and she seems great, very friendly....

the wash + nails + anal glands is $25. since i'm letting her hair grow, i didn't want her cut down, but if i get that too it's $40, which doesn't seem like a bad price, esp. for this area!!

she told me it shouldn't take any more than about 45 minutes!!

i'm so nervous, i am afraid of how i will be when she has to go under TWO anesthesias (1 for her teeth and 1 for her spay).... :eek:

i'll give an update when i have her back!!

She can't get both done at the same time? Saves you one worry.

Yup! Do it at the same time. It's one less anesthesia risk.

unfortunately, she can't have hers done at the same time b/c her teeth are already bad. the vet told me that she wouldn't open up her belly while all that bacteria from her teeth was in the air, so hers must be done separately :(

so we do the teeth in a couple of weeks and the spay a few weeks later....

That sucks! Poor baby. At least she has you to look after her well being.

Glad you found a place! That is a very reasonable price for your area! :)

About the teeth, are they so bad that she can't have the non-anesthetic cleaning? Like she needs extractions too? bc Dvlshangel took Kaji to a non-anesthetic place and his teeth are sparkling white now!

YAAAAYYYY:D i'm very happy with her grooming. she looks so cute (see pics)!!! and she's had her nails cut, thank god, they were like talons. the groomer told me she had no problems out of her. i didn't pay for a cut, but i can see where the groomer veeery slightly trimmed up her face, which i didn't mind. she also gave her the cutest little pink bow!!!

for a $25 service, how much should i tip (i forgot to bring cash, so i have to go back :rolleyes:)??

the first pic is from this morning ... she's all "food?!?"

and the rest are from after her grooming ... i didn't get them fast enough, she had just stuck her face in her water, but at least i can get her to drink it now :rolleyes:

What a cutie! Great job she did! :thumbup: I think since the price was so reasonable I would tip $10. My hair stylist (who I haven't seen in years!:rolleyes:) would always do a really good and fast job on my hair and only charged $20 so i would always tip him $10. 50% tip for such a good price to begin with is not bad. If it were the shop owner, then you don't tip, but you said this is a vet/grooming right? So yes def tip her.

i honestly don't understand this logic. the owner of the shop still does the same amount of work that the other groomers do. She's not making tons of money off your groom because all that money goes back into the shop. the tips are greatly appreciate by all in the shop. Also some places, like the place i work at, pool the tips and split it at the end of the day. the person who baths, dries, and brushes your pet gets a portion of that tip so if you don't tip the groomer because she's the owner of the shop your also not tipping the bather.

That's just what I've always read before. Usually the workers there have to pay a fee to work there, like hairdresser do. The owner wouldn't pay that obviously bc they own the shop. I guess if you want to tip the owner there's nothing wrong with that. I personally have never had any owner work on me before though.
