Pee smell on hard floor surface? We've had a lot of rain this last week so the pups have mostly been staying inside and pottying on their pee pads (wouldn't want their little toesies to get damp :rolleyes:). But now someone has stopped using the pads & is peeing in one spot directly on my stained concrete floor. :eek: I want this stopped PDQ! I usually mop with a mixture of Dawn and warm water. Is this enough to get the smell out of the concrete and make them stop going there, or do I need a special cleaner? What kind? |
I have used Nature's Miracle on hard surfaces, I bet it would work. If your concrete is sealed though would the proteins soak into the concrete? It may just need surface cleaning. Good question |
Try mixing one part vinegar and one part club soda. Spray on with a spray bottle. Let it set for at least 10 minutes. Then mop with clear water...dry with towel. The club soda is supposed to lift the urine up to the top and the vinegar neutralizes it. Good -luck! This is what I use on hard wood flooring (Cheap hardwood). |

I had a dog on lasix so you can imagine the mess on brick which is porous. I used vinegar, alcohol and baking soda. I let it soak in an kept giving it the sniff test. Finally I could not figure out if I smelled vinegar or urine. I thin used Fabreze numerous times. Its fine. New puppy does not go over there. |
If rubbing alcohol can get skunk smell out I would think it will get urine smell out. I use it on my floors and they are hardwood. I just put it in a spray bottle. |

I used to have tile floors- vinegar and water worked perfect - now I have carpet and my little Cheri has the occasional 'accident' - same thing - vinegar and water - saturate it - blot it up and no smell or stain. I ask people all the time if they can tell I have a dog who misses her pad and they always tell me it smells great in my place and one of them def would tell me cause he is NOT a pet lover |
