I am about to groom miss Tessa and need some opinions...She has a modified full coat and I am debating on wether or not I should tip her ears. Right now we are working on the butterfly ears, but thought I would see what everyone here prefers :D

tipped ears or butterfly ears???

I do tipped ears on Chloe, but I do like the way butterfly ears look as well. Guess I'm no help...Yorkies are just too cute no matter how they wear their hair! :D

I tipped Maggies ears and am soooo sorry that I did. She still looks adorable but she was definitely a dollbaby with the butterfly look.

do you have pictures of what her ears look like now?

I keep morgan's tipped because with her cotton coat her ears begin to look like elephant ears when they are too hairy.

my hard drive was destroyed so I lost all my pics of her...but here are the most recent ones I've gotten that show her in the process of growing out the butterfly look.

they look cute in that picture. I'd keep growing them out till they get to a length you like or you don't like them at all anymore, then you can tip them. gotta love yorkie hair, it always grows

She will be cute either way you go. My mom's biewer Jazzy has the butterfly ears and they are so cute on her. Jada had them when we first got her and they made her tiny head look too big so I tip hers.

I didn't even know about butterfly ears...I mean I've seen them, but didn't know there was a name for them. I think Tessa will look adorable with butterfly ears or with tipped ones!

okay I'm new, and I have no idea what butterfly vs tipped ears looks like. Can someone please explain?

I tip both of my furbabies ears - I was told that if I didn't and they get 'heavy' with fur, they will fold over. Lizzie's dad is a Biewer, and she has a different ear shape than Mr. Darcy's, and her tips will start drooping - kinda cute though!!!! because when she moves her head they 'wave' at you! When I trim them though, they stand up.

JMO.. but I don't like the butterfly ear look. They remind me more of a papillon than a yorkie. My daughter likes the butterfly look though..so I guess everyone is different.

Hammers ears are still down .. they are just hairy!

it's where the hair on the ears is long and flows out...like a papillon. The last pic I posted of her in this thread gives you an idea. we are still in the process of growing it out...

and I think I've decided to keep them as they are for now :) might tip them later but for now, I'll let it go :)
