?? now that i have two yorkies??? i spend most times cleaning up after coby. hes peeing on everything .... his blankets, toys, smell so bad daily... i have to wash him and his belonging daily.. he's more work.. then Lola ???? shes so easy she never pees on her stuff, she only pees on the wee pads.. coby does so much peeing during the day.. i am not sure if he peeing all over his stuff marking because he's a boy'? or if this is his personality-- ? we contacted his vet about him getting neuter.. we had to stop him from interacting we lola.. he tries to hump her from behind:eek: with loa being so young tiny only 12 weeks old.. we dont want him to hurt her?..we need to know after the neuter will the marking stop and humping???? Coby now pees and poops on the floor next to his litter box because we wont let them interact |
Neutering may not stop his marking but will certainly keep him from getting your little girl pregnant. How about a belly band on him? That will stop him from marking but will not stop him from getting her pregnant when she's older. Humping should die down some however they still do it from time to time. Buddy is six and the only time he humps his bed is after breakfast:confused: I tell him only bad boy's do that daily and he walks away until the next morning only to do it all over again. Your doing the right thing by getting him neutered and hopefully the little girl spayed when she's older too. Hope this helps you, |
You need to neuter him and start all over with potty training because hes developed bad habits. You need to confine him when you cant watch him. I had a 5 yr old with bade potty habits and I was able to retrain her so I know you can retrain him it just takes consistency |

will he really hurt her since she so young |
Coby is just showing his dominance with Lola, humping is just something dogs do to each other, and it really has no sexual connotation, but hormones, such as testosterone, probably guide it, and neutering can lessen it. Are you planning to breed? You really need to get Coby fixed as soon as possible. When you add another dog to the mix, marking becomes more of a problem I'm not sure why you wanted to add another dog to the family, since Coby isn't really trained yet. It's going to be more difficult training two. Also, cleaning urine marks with a regular cleaner doesn't remove the protein in the urine; you need a special cleaner, such as Natures Miracle to remove all the protein. It has special enzymes that eat the protein. If a tiny bit of protein is left the dog returns to the spot, and marks again. Remember it's not his fault when he makes a mistake, you have not taught him correctly or cleaned correctly. You need to either crate train him, or keep him in a playpen with plenty of pee pads. Never allow him on the carpet unless both eyes are on him, if he starts to circle place him on a pee pad. I'm really confused about why you wanted to add another dog at this time, when it sounds like you haven't read that much on how to care for Coby. Here's an excellent article on housebreaking, please study it and if there is a part you don't understand, ask questions, but you need a specific plan to house break a dog, it can't be hit and miss, you have to be consistent, and never angry with the dog. Remember it is ALWAYS the human's fault when the dog makes a mistake. Free House Training for Puppies and Adult Dogs - No More Accidents Starting Today! |

I agree with the above, please get him neutered ASAP. Since this behavior just started, after he gets neutered, there's a strong chance that his makring will stop ;) My TJ and Roxy were both fixed at 6 months and they are such loving brother and sister ~ they are so good ;) |

Sebastian was humping everything in sight and then, when I had him neutered, he slowed down and now he has stopped almost completely. :) |
Lizzie, who will be three in July, occasionally humps my smallest Italian Greyhound, another female. There's only about a 2 lb difference in them. Lizzie is 6.5 lbs. She's just a dominant little dog. |
