Just an update too...Izzy is doing MUCh better!! ;)

But i was just wondering if anyone else has trouble getting their little furbaby to eat. I have tried EVERYTHING from dry dood, wet food, different kinds etc... She is SOOOOOOO picky...For her to eat I have to pretend that my Twilight ( my chihuahua ) is going to eat Izzy food...Then Izzy may eat a bite here so there...But I'm getting alittle tired of playing this game..lol... I can ever give her pieces of chicken or steak and she still puts her nose up to it..aghhh...

So if you have any advice I'm all ears.. :confused:

Sorry Sofia really eats pretty well. I feed her natural balance potato and duck. She loves the potato and duck roll, I shave some and sprinkle it on the dry and she eats like crazy. I know some of them are picky, I just lucked out I guess. You might try the roll, you can buy little ones to try it out. I wish I could be more help, I can tell you a frustrated.

I have this problem with Chase too. I have to buy different flavors/brands of wet to mix in. His favorite treat is dried beef liver, so if I can't get him to eat I'll take a tiny piece of the liver treat and break it up and sprinkle it on his food. So far, that has worked great :)

Wow she turned her nose up to chicken and steak? Uni is really picky too. She changes her mind all the time about what food she likes. I found out that Stella and Chewys raw medallions (lamb or beef) she likes, and I will mix that with her wellness kibble. She also really likes Lotus kibble too.

When Tink was little, I had to sit on the floor next to her food dish and hand feed her each little piece. Otherwise, she wouldn't eat. I think that lasted about 4 months and then she would bring a mouthful of food to me for me to feed her. :rolleyes: So I stopped that routine! She has always been a picky eater.

I started her on Nutro, but after the dog food scare (she was also sick with other problems) I switched her to Wellness and she loves it. I don't have to worry about her eating.

Try hand feeding and see if it helps. Good luck.:)

I have this problem right now... except my baby is a Morkie, 6 mos. URGH! She just won't eat her food at all. We've switched more than once, and I always mix some wet with the dry, changing up the wet flavour with each can (wet and dry Wellness).

Off I go tmrw to try something else for her.............

I will try the rolls... She is currently eating ( when she chooses) Venison and sweet potato L.I.D formula by natural balance...Tried the duck and she would not touch it...The ONLY think she will eat w/o trouble are those chicken jerky sticks...But she can't live in those..lol..

I have tried hand feeding her but she takes it like it's the plege...I swear sometimes she looks at me and says "Would you eat this crap" :p? lol...Well looking like a have something to try..Thanks everyone :)

i try to give him a litter bit food. and play with him & teach him to say hi...then give food to b gift when he do it right.555

Izzy is 7 months old, so she's pretty young like your...I went today and got the Natural Balance Rolls...OMG she LOVES IT!!!! It tell you how much to feed them, And a 2.5 lbs roll ( if she eats the amount they say ) should last about 5 days.. and the rolls cost about $4.50...But if she'll eat it then I can live with the price..lol...

I'm also leaving dry food out also so she can "nibble" on that when she wants... Have you tried these rolls yet? if not then maybe she'll like it like Izzy does..

I had a problem similar to yours and i started home cooking for my Yorkie and then my other dogs and everyone filled out great and they wear happy and there coats and skin improved 10 fold i was so happy hen i got another yorkie and she will not eat the home cooked because she was punished for eating "people food" by her last owners and the only thing she will eat is pedigree but i want to switch her to wellness

My Yorkie is so picky, she doesn't even eat treats much. I have tried her on Canidae puppy and Yorkie formula and now I have Blue ?, I tried two flavors and she won't eat either one. She won't eat Purina or any kind of canned dog food I have tried and I have tried several, from Dick Patton to Ceasar to Old Roy. Most nights I cook chicken breast (boiled, no salt or seasoning) or ground turkey cooked in the microwave, she will eat those. In the mornings......I know this is BAD....I take one slice of cheese and pinch off just enough to cover a piece of kibble and hand feed it to her and she eats that. I know I shouldn't give her cheese at all but at least she gets some dry kibble that way which I figure is good for her and good for her teeth. She seems healthy and has a thick shiny coat and plenty of energy so maybe it's not hurting her too much.

Lack of appetite is usually a sign of health problems - I would monitor for other symptoms... But Yorkies are known for being very picky. I tried 3 different brands before my guy started eating dog food -and to make things worse, he has really bad food allergies too...

My yorkie Esther is a picky eater. I too have tried several types of dry and wet food. Not much success with either. I've tried adding crushed up chicken sticks and other natural treats to temp her to eat - nothing. I have resulted in the home cooked chicken and occasional left over steak. So far she'll eat those. Our vet says the looks and acts like a very healthy dog, so he said if she eats what I cook and I don't mind the expense and time, then it's ok with him.

It's kinda funny, each of my daughters have a yorkie that is a sister to Esther. Neither one of them have this problem. The girls say it's me. Maybe it is, but I can't stand seeing her not eat.

Lucy is not crazy about her Wellness dry food; but if I put a little homemade chicken broth on it . . . or heat up some cooked carrots . . or use the Wellness canned 95% Lamb or Salmon . . she eats every bit.

Cheese is ok if it's not too much. Too much can trigger pancreatits if the dog is predisposed, or simply cause loose stools. Cottage cheese or parmesan is best.

Don't give steak! If by leftover you mean it was for you guys, then it must have seasonings on it. It's too fatty and too much salt. If you give real meat, plain boiled is best for them.
