how would you feel if ? I would love some input on this please.. I let someone use my stud 2 times in trade to use a male stud one time of hers that I wanted to use. I never got to use that stud, never got paid never got a puppy! She wanted me to use her other studs but not that one, then she sells that one. As for using one of the other stud that was not the deal and now I have no trust in this person at all. nope nothing was in writing it was all in a trust me..She has had litterS of pup has new dogS and I still have got nothing. Do you think she owes me something ? Thanks Lynda |
I think she owes you something, but if you didn't have anything in writing, you probably don't have much of a chance at getting anything. I would say ask her about it (because she may feel guilty and give it to you anyway) and if she refuses, there's not much you can do. Take it as a lesson learned, and always get stuff documented!! |
Ethically, yes, she owes you something. But, unless you have a written contract, there is nothing you can do legally. |

She does owe you, but I would maybe try talking to her comely. Explain how you feel about the situation, if she is an honest person she'll work something out that will make you feel better. A bit of advice, next itme getting in writing. Nothing can ruin a friendship faster than a misunderstanding. |
Don't shoot the messenger But you sound like a back yard breeder to me....... A full time registered breeder would of know to have a contact in hand, signed by both parties. Why do you feel the need to increase the dog population? :thumbdown |

Sorry to hear that Lynda. I always have a contract, even with my best friend. I normally make it simple, list the terms and put a clause at the end that says, "The terms of this contract can be changed if agreed to in writing by both parties." That way if something unexpected happened (like her selling the stud you were supposed to use), you can either agree to other terms, like you getting pick of litter or 2 stud fees, or if you can't agree on terms, she needs to know that she would still owe you a breeding to that stud (come he** or high water) or you'll take her to court! Without a contract, hopefully you and she can agree on something that will make both happy. Good luck :-) |

thanks to all well I know I'm not crazy now. thanks to all.. she thinks I'm wrong, that she dose not owe a thing because I did not take the stud she wanted me to take. I hope you can understand how upset this all makes me, you know after time goes on I get even more sick about this. There has been lots of time to make good on this. not much I can do ! I think most yorkie people already know this person can not be trusted. and no we are not friends now, I have nothing but hate in me because of this and more. thanks again Lynda |

If you are not a "breeder" that is 110% in the breeding I think it is very sad that you would use your dog to make money. Most of the breeder's breed because they have a heart for it and they are 110% in the breeding world. They do all the correct things that they need to do. If you knew anything about breeding I don't think this would have happend to you. I think if breeding is something you want to get into than research it and learn the correct way.
