Potty Question
 

I've been interested in getting an artificial grass system for Zeke. We currently use pads inside and outside. The problem with them is that we have to change them often and also sometimes he only pees on half of the pad so he misses. Also it seems like such a waste to keep buying new pads and throwing them away.:thumbdown

So I found the Porch Potty and it seems like the best one. It has a drain hose and it seems like it could be easier to clean than some other ones out there. It is 6" high though which makes me wonder if he will want to jump up on it. It is a good thing though so he won't pee on it "half and half". Does anyone use this brand?:confused:

I also looked at UGODOG (its not grass just basically a tray), Potty Patch, Potty Park & a few others.:animal-pa

Just curious if anyone out there uses Porch Potty or a similar product?:D

I purchased the Rascal Litter box. I like it, for the most part. My dog won't pee in it, but she will poo in it! Its the wierdest thing! I picked this one becase of the way the bottow was, I read about some pups getting their toes stuck in some of the grates on the bottom. I say get the system early, if you want it to work!

Mine did the same. Now she won't use it at all so we're back to potty pads and crate training.

I tried starting off with one of the grass potties and Addy never would use it, so it is just sitting in a box taking up space. I am now trying to get her use to using the pee pads in a holder... she doesn't want to poop on the pads now that they are in the holder... go fiqure. Before I was using the holder she would peep to close to the side of the pads and it would get on the floor sometimes, but the holder has stopped that problem now that she as started using the pads again after me putting them in the holder.

I have never experienced a dog that is so touchy about her peeing and pooping. If anything changes in her environment she will not go where she is suppose to. She is 13 months old and still receives treats for doing her business on the pads.

The way a jusify the cost of the pee pads, as long as she is using the pads I don't have to spend the money for products to clean the pee up off the floors and carpet.

The way I justify.... good grief!!!!

I brought my puppy home this past winter and I knew I would not be training her to go outside. I thought about pads but when I saw how pricey they were I decided to hunt for a potty patch, porch potty etc. Well, I couldn't find one! I didn't have time to order one online so after some researching and visit to Petco, I bought her a litter box with compressed newspaper pellets. Would you believe she has NEVER had an accident! I was so darn impressed with her and the ease in which she learned to use her potty. I think the fact that the breeder had all the puppies using cardboard boxes help, but I like to think she was just eager to please mommy. Now some people warned me about her eating the pellets, but to be honest she does chew on them from time to time, but this is only when she is left alone for long periods of time. She has never choked and I've never seen them in her stool. I pick up her poop right away and flush it, but not the pellets. They are NOT toilet friendly! Trust me we learned this the really really really hard way. Like had to take the toilet off the floor and unclog it, hard way. I find that petco has the best price on litter, its their name brand stuff. Purina makes litter but it is way overpriced. Good luck with your babies!
