exploring stage does anyone have a puppy whos in the two year old toddler exploring stage? Pennys 5 months and our constant conversation is WHATS IN YOUR MOUTH!! she has to pick up EVERYTHING today i caught her with a aa battery like give me a heartattack she popped it out of the remote she always finding random things to chew on my mom said she was trying to pick a penny up off the floor this morning...we have 13 kids in our house theres ALWAYS something on the floor she had a stone from my fish tank the other day she LOVES the strings on any of my hoodies and she chases any bug on the grass. Today i left her out and i kid you not she looked right at me turned her head sideways and went for the pile of lawn clippings i tell her daily if it smells good it dosent belong in her mouth. I feel really bad cause sometimes she wil have her food in her mouth and my reaction now is always panic and she spits it out really quick with the ..i thought i was SUPPOSED to eat this look...I LOVE MY PUPPY but shes gonna give me a heart attack |
This is all I do with my Wally, he is 9mo. He constantly has something he is not supposed to have!! |
Oh, I can relate!! I had to fish a light brite peg out of Ruby's mouth one day. I think she's been to every knook and cranny in the house:eek: |
Haha!! We went through this exact same thing with Chloe! She's a year old now and finally (slowly) getting out of that stage. But b/c of her tendency to pick up anything and everything (like carrying in gravel from outside to play with), she now rolls over on her back and looks all sweet and innocent if you ask her "What have you got!?" Half the time, she BRINGS me the thing that she's not supposed to have!! Or when we walk by, she'll pull the "Who me?" pose and that's the only way I even know she has something. She ends up givimg herself away!! -C |
Penny cracks me up cause once ive caught her youve never seen a little tongue move so fast to spit whatever it is out then shes gives me the ...I sowwie mommy look funny little $hit that she is i taught her to shake and then once day i put my hand infront of her face to tell her to wait and she popped up and gave me a high five so she taught herself to high five in like ten minutes of me repeating the behaviour ..smart girl |
I hear you on the "what's in your mouth" thing. Rhett can find the most minuscule item on the floor and goes running with it because he knows he isn't supposed to have it. Today he discovered toilet paper! What a lovely mess that was to clean up. |
Penny dosent eat toilet paper or tissues thank god cause i have horrible allergies ( allergic to animals and pretty much anything that smells good ) so i have tissue boxes in every room and usually at night when im blowing my nose i could care less if it hits the trash..she never messes with them ..knock on wood. She is however the wierdest dog when it comes to food she wont eat out of anything with raised sides so i feed her on a small paper plate and she usually destroys that before i can get back to it |
