So mad at groomer I brought Skippy and my poodle to the groomers Monday. When she handed me Suiki she let out a little yelp. I asked what was the matter, and the groomer said oh we knicked her a little, because she wouldn't stand up. It was no knick it was a cut through to the bone. I took her to the vet today, and she had to get four stitches. I brought the bill to the groomer, and she paid it, but that's not the point. Suiki is very shy and timid, and if they couldn't groom her which they have done several times before they should have called me. Don't you think? She is actually bald in some places. Needless to say I didn't pay for the hair cut. I'll never go back there again, and when I find a new groomer I will explain what happened, and ask if I can stay with her while she's groomed. |

This is why I do everything myself!! I do not trust anyone with my dogs!!! |
So sorry this happened to you. Glad the groomer at least paid the bills. Your baby will probably be even worse at the groomers now... so make sure you find someone who is very understanding and can work slowly with her to build up here trust again... My baby had one bad experience at the groomer and it took a number of visits with the new groomer to get him to a point where he behaves and doesnt freak out! |
Cut to the bone!? Thank goodness your baby is okay now with the stitches. Poor baby and poor you. Hope she makes a speedy recovery. |
I am so sorry you and your baby had to go through that! I'm glad to hear that they paid the vet bill at least, however that doesn't make up for what happened! I hope you and your pup are doing well! :animal-pa Nicole and Tanner |
I'm so sorry this happened, we stopped going to the groomer after they left our sheltie alone tied to the table and she slipped off and now has permanent hip damage. They said it was the dogs fault because she didn't stay still while they answered the phone. We now have a mobile groomer, who couldn't be better. She's never is more than a step away from the dog, and can reach out and touch them at all times. It took some time for Isabella to trust her, but she just took it slow and gave her some treats that I gave her. Now my dogs greet her with kisses and can't wait for their turn to be groomed. The sheltie gets done ever two weeks and the maltese and little Sofia get done about every 6 weeks. I hope you find a groomer who has a better understanding of how to handle dogs. I hope you little one feels better soon. |
Goodness they should have call you immediately so you could have taken her to the vet ASAP. Glad they paid for the bill but that's still awful. Sorry you went through that. |
OH my:cry: Your poor baby!!! My girls have gotten nicked once or twice each, but they are wiggly, and it wasn't severe enough to require stitches. They put surgical glue on the nick and good as new. But to the BONE:eek:?!?! WOW! Any groomer, imho, that WON'T let you stay and watch---is to be avoided at all costs. I'm very fortunate that the place where I take my girls has an open door policy and they let you hang out, if you want to. I usually don't any more, as my two act up if I'm there:rolleyes: |
Poor baby i'm sorry they did that to you. I'm dreding having to take my yorkies to a groomer. |
I'm sorry this happened to your dog. I can't believe the groomer didn't immediately take her to the vet! It's people like that who give us a bad name...Luckily enough we have a vet on hand when accidents happen, because they do, but they should be handled accordingly. I suggest you put out a review on that grooming place! Warn other people of how they treat their pups! |

Geez, would they leave a child on the table while they answered the phone?:( I hope your baby won't be too traumatized. |
OMG, horrifying. I do everything myself now, too. But, come on! They should have called you immediately and taken your baby to the vet. If 4 stitches were needed, I can only imagine the scene when Suiki got cut. |

Wow they should of brought her to the vet themselves! Goodness I can't even imagine how upset you are, I would of flipped a lid! I'm glad your baby is alright now. I read too many of these scarey stories and this is why I do grooming myself at home and take all day if I have to while giving them breaks to relax and treats. |
OMG I am so sorry this happened!! Something similar happened here to the groomer that we took Roxy too. The lady didn't know what she was doing and cut a hole into a dogs leg. When I heard that Roxy never went back. Even though my chop shop cuts aren't the prettiest, they are safe on my babies. You never know what happens at the groomers. I hope your baby is doing well. |
OMG- I'm so sorry this happened. How could they not at least call you and let you know it happened and given you the option of taking her to the vet right away? Accidents DO happen, but the way they failed to handle this is unacceptable. |
Total negligence that they thought you wouldn't find it and realize that it was them that had done that. |
Poor baby, don't you wish sometimes they could talk and tell us everything? I ususally stay with Pixie at the groomers. I have been doing that since she was about 12 weeks at her first visit. Find a groomer that will let you help hold your baby while it is being groomed. I bathe Pixie myself and bring her to the groomers and I stay and help hold Pixie. Pixie is getting use to the groomer and eventually I will let her stay bc I totally trust my groomer. Daisy On the other hand is 6 yrs old and she gets the works but I pick her up as soon as she is done about and hr or so. |
These groomers scare me. I'm planning on taking my girl Zoey soon and I'll make sure that I stay with her and can hold her! That's terrible. The poor little thing must have been so scared and hurt and then for them not even to tell you what happened but for you to have to find the cut yourself! |
So sorry this happened to your baby. This is the reason I refuse to take my babies to groomer after groomer "to find the right one" My babies are not guinea pigs. I now do it myself!! Unfortunatly I am not on my computer but I have pictures of my Coco's ear. They "niked" it. Yeah they took half of it off.!!! |
Oh my goodness that is terrible, where did your baby get cut? |
wow, these stories are horrible. not only worried about the "nicking/cutting" but if this does happen does the groomer clean/disinfect the cut? They probably don't sterilize the tools they use either & infection could set in quickly. I won't be taking my yorkie to a groomer. I use to take my "Toy Poodle" years ago & when I asked how they would keep her still, the guy just said "Oh, we have our ways!" I never took her back. |

I'd be upset too - if they couldn't handle her they should have asked you to pick her up . There are mobile groomers you can try and other groomers that may be much more gentle. What I did when I first got my Chanel was just pop into places to 'see' how the dogs were treated -- then after visiting several places - I would go back and ask more questions. I did find ONE but have since moved so no longer have a good groomer anymore. (well I found one near my place but they use those heaters) fyi - never go to one who uses drying heaters in a cage !! Ask for blow dries with a hair dryer - those heaters are death traps. I had a bad experience with a groomer years ago and now groom myself |
1 Attachment(s) Finally was able topry my computer away from my son to post a picture of Coco's ear.. Good thing his hair grew over it but I know it's there and it bothers me to think that they hurt my baby!!! He must have been so scared!! |
I had to take Suiki back to the vets today, and they had to put a cast on her leg, because it kept tearing open. It's right on her elbow, and the vet said, because she keeps moving it we were better off putting a soft cast on it. What next? |
OMG that poor baby. Please make sure you let everyone you can know not to go to that groomer. That is just pure carelessness. I hope your little one gets better soon. |
Awe, you and your poor baby. I can't imagine what I would do if a groomer did that to Kobe, I'm protective of my furbabies & skin kids. I would of caused a scene. I groom him myself because I currently don't trust anyone enough to leave him anymore... i just started so he looks crazy most of the time...LOL but not hurt or miss treated |
Oh my goodness!! I am just now seeing this and I am so sorry for what happened to your precious baby. I too am so afraid to take mine back to a groomers. I got upset with mine when she shaved their noses. I do my own grooming now, and no they aren't perfect but they are not traumatized and if I mess their hair up it will grow back. We live in a very rural community and there aren't but a couple of groomers around and I don't really trust any of them. I can't imagine them getting cut to the bone!! I hope she heals soon. Bless her little heart. |

Wow, I understand accidents happen but boy oh boy that was some accident  Hope your baby recovers quickly |
