Another good reason for TAGS! I came home on Saturday to my husband standing in the driveway with the cutest little Shih-Tzus in my husbands arms. My son was on the phone with the owner who lived about 2 blocks away BECAUSE HE WAS WEARING A COLLAR AND TAGS! He was the happiest little guy and his tail was going a hundred miles an hour. :p My son's GF and I took him back home and his mommy was waiting in the driveway. She told me that her husband passed away recently and he has been running away looking him. She has recently put in a new gate and the contractor hadn't put a new latch on it yet. It was held closed with a couple of bungee cords  FF to about 30 minutes ago................my monsters are going CRAZY in the yard, I look out onto the driveway and HE'S BACK! I went out the front door and called him and he ran around the house to me and rolled over onto his back, wagging his tail like he was HOME  I call the number on his TAG and now I get the daughter who about my age and teenage son is out looking for Max. She tells me that when he's not running away he is peeing in the house. :bulb: I put him down on the floor and he LIFTS HIS LEG ON MY COUCH! BELLYBAND TIME! So I sent the son home with gifts~Max went home with a lightening bolt BB and a leash. The grandson went home with 2 large cement stepping stones to put against the fence to stop max from running away. I was just after my husband yesterday about throwing them away since we took down out pool and we has used them as a little path from the patio to the pool deck. Now I'm glad that we still had them. I'm going to take a drive by their house to make sure the GS put the cement blocks where I told he to place them~or I will be getting out of the car myself to fix the situation. ;) When Max left he got a smooch from me and I told the little guy I never wanted to see him back for a visit without an adult! :animal36 I'm sure the GS thought I was the bossiest beast for miles around. :D |
Good for you! Thank you for being so kind to someone who needs some help with their own little "monster". :) |
Aww - I think he felt some love and some security there. That's great that you'll stop by to check on him with the blocks/gate because next time he might not make it to your house. |
What a great story!!!!!!!! That is EXACTLY why I have been leaving Fiona's collar on all the time- I used to take it off when she was inside, but I learned it's better to leave it on! |
That was very sweet of you!!, I'm sure the owner appreciated it very much :) |
That was very sweet of you. Does the belly bands work well? I have a male I'm hoping he doesn't do this. |
I know I would be very appreciative to have a neighbor like you. |
Yes! Way to go, sista! Good example of loving your neighbor! :D:D:D |
Great story, I've found so many dogs over the years, I guess they had a way of following me home? Anyway, when they are wearing tags, it's so simple to find the owner, and you know that there is always a happy ending. I know if I had kids living with me, Joey would always be wearing tags. I pick him up, every time I open the door, and don't set him down, until I close the door. It's so hard to train kids (and their friends!!!!) to be careful enough! |
He loves his new adopted Auntie! LOL! :) That story is too cute and sad (because of the owner dying) at the same time. He's lucky to have found your home. |
That was so nice of you!:) |
