My trip I just booked my trip to Egyt to go see the pyramids. The trip isn't until next year and I'm already worrried about my furbaby. I don't want her to think I am not coming back (which she probably will anyway). My stepmother will be taking care of her. I know she will take good care of Brandi and Zoey because she is probably more of an animal lover than me. Zoey I'm not to worry about as my stepmother will come over to my house and make sure's okay. Brandi will be staying with her. She's retired so Brandi won't be in a strange environment by herself. I will be gone for 13 days and we have never been apart....welll except for when I go to work. Even when my mother got sick, I took Brandi to Nashville with me. She pretty much goes everywhere with me. My stepmother has two siamese cats and they are huge! Starting this week I will be taking Brandi of to her house while I'm at work so Brandi can get used to her and the cats and to let her know that I will be back to get her. I really wish I can take her with me but I know she'll be in good hands while I am gone. Just think I am going to be walking on the same soil that the pharaohs walked on......this trip is going to be amazing! |
Just had another crazy thought.....what if Brandi get's attached my stepmother. I would be so jealous :p. Yeah I know.....stupid thought! The reason I think this is because when I used to pet sit my neighbors yorkie she became attached to me and didn't want to go home. Her owner would come pick her up and she wouldn't go to her...she would run behind me as if she wanted to stay with me. Her owner was always traveling usually for business and I provided her yorkie with affection and a more structured schedule. I know her owner was a little hurt by that. She wasn't a bad owner in fact she was a excellent owner but she had to do a lot of traveling. |
You have a great trip planned, and one not to be missed. Your dog will be just fine, and will be happy to see you when you get back. We all miss our dogs when fone, but we also have to het a away, recharge, have fun and explore. In the Winder, I am heading to Southern Argentina to hunt wild boar on horseback. It is now or never, as I am not getting any younger. My last memorable trip was to Viet Nam last year with several other former Marines. Naturally, my wife passed. She is into cruising and European travel, and it is hard to drag her away from the pups. |
What a fantastic trip you have planned. Not to worry about your baby, she will love you like you were gone for 5 minutes. Zoey would want you to have such a great experience!!:) I went away for 2 weeks back in Feb and Ruby was less than 6 months old, I was so freaked out that she would forget me, but as soon as I walked through the door, the kisses started. |
Uears ago, before most here were born, I was gone for close to 20 months. When I returned home, the dog did not forget me. That was a great feeling. |
Wow, your trip plans sound awesome! DBF and I went to Disney World last month for 6 days. We left Roxie with my parents...and she LOVED being there (they played outside all day!). She was glad to see us when we got back, she went bonkers! However, once we got her home she was a little bummed. I think she missed being able to run around outside all day and getting so much attention from my mom. It took her about 24 hours to adjust to being back with boring old us...LOL! |
