Just moved: Excessive barking, nervousness, lethargic? We just moved out of the apartment that I had for a year, and the only place Brownie has ever lived with me yesterday... Brownie seemed okay earlier: curious, excited to explore the big, new house; but it seemed to go downhill later this past afternoon and into the night. She is overly anxious, and barks at any little noise she hears. Also, she has been very lethargic, and won't play with any of her toys, or even stay up long enough to try... I am a little worried, but I know she has some adjusting to do... Anything I can do to make it easier on her?? |

I moved from one state to another and her adjustment period lasted about a week. I also moved from one apartment to another (within the same complex and the same layout) and there was a small adjustment because her "outside" was different. Be patient, she will adjust. |
I agree with Philly. Also, moving from an apartment to a house, Brownie might be overwhelmed with the expansion of her "territory." Maybe she feels like she has too much space to guard or worry about. Try limiting her to one or two rooms and gradually increase her freedom as she feels more comfortable. You can use baby gates or doors to section off part of the house. Do this especially when she is left alone. |
