I think you're better off with no flea treatment at this point. Those flea collars are nasty things! If they can burn a ring into a wooden dresser, imagine what they can do to your baby's neck!
Did your baby girl come with her health files? If not that is something you need to have in your hands to show your vet. Otherwise, some vaccine happy vets will do her vaccines all over since they can't verify she's up to date. Even if she just saw a vet before being placed with you, you need to take her in ASAP to have her checked out and to have all your questions answered. I know you don't want to stress your baby but the vet trip is for your own piece of mind. Kaji had 3 vet visits in a matter of a week and a half when he came home. His first was right before he was given to me, the breeder took him; his second 3 days from him coming home, and the third was on day 6 of him coming home for his neuter. I was able to ask the vet a zillion questions which really gave my mind a break. It was going a million miles a minute those first 2 weeks! | i have her vaccination certificate from the vet, but that's it. do you really like your vet? would you recommend? details, details!!! i will take her this week, the more time goes past, the more questions i have, you are right.... latest update: we went for a long walk today and typsy did sooooo great!!!! :D she has really gotten the hang of walking on a leash. one time, she was so on top of her game that the leash stayed completely slack for such a long time, i was afraid for a split second that she had somehow ran off!!!
she is still scared of other dogs. she is quiet with them, never barks, but may growl a bit if they get too close. mostly, she just tries to kind of hide behind me. she's also scared of other people walking down the street towards us.
i put her in her beautiful gunmetal kwigy bo alex bag (shout out to RYAN for the great service :)) and she was chilling in there. no one even knew i had her until i said something. it's interesting b/c she will resist me when i try to zip up the bag, so i just have to make her sit and then lay down first. once she's in there, she's fine.
i also noticed that when she eats, she goes to her pee-pee pad within 2 minutes to pee and then she goes back and eats more ... it is the weirdest thing!!! how am i going to housebreak her when she doesn't even give me a chance to get her outside?!? |
