Skype - the best!!!! I just wanted to post something I am so excited about - partly to do with Yorkies!!! but also just something that makes me happy!!! We are Canadians, but lived in Florida for 11 years ( we owned 2 restaurants), so when we moved back to Canada one of my three kids stayed there:(. We went down, and he came up, but I didn't see him much (and that made me very sad). We both downloaded Skype, and now spend lots of time chatting.....it's just like we are 'together' for the evening! He and his wife sit at their place, and my husband and I sit in our place, and just talk...They hadn't seen Lizzie because I got her after I got back from Florida (with Mr. Darcy) this Spring, so I held her up and then put the laptop down, and they saw her and Mr.Darcy playing together - How cool is that???!!!!....anyway - just wanted to share something happy:D |

Yes, we skype with my brother in Seattle all the time! It's so nice since we are so far apart! I love seeing them, their dogs and showing them ours! :) |
I love it ! I keep up with my oldest son and new grandbaby Adair on Skype ps - I just posted brand new photos of her beautiful face in OFF Topic - she's growing so quickly and such a happy little girl at 2 months |
I downloaded Skype some time ago but don't really use it because I had MSN, what is the difference in the two? |
I also have Skype and we talk to our daughter-in-law in Italy. She is there with our 10 month old grandbaby that we've never met in person. However, since downloading Skype, we get to talk to the D-I-L and our granddaughter. It's free and is the next best thing to chocolate.:) Darlene....I'm not sure what MSN has that compares to Skype. All I know is that Skype is a video/audio way of communicating with anyone - anywhere. You need a microphone and camera, also. Very easy to set up. Good way to communicate with those family members/friends that you have to travel so far to see! It also allows you to just send chat messages instantly if you don't want the camera on. You can also take snapshots of the screen while talking to someone on the other end and then later print those pictures. Try it. I know you will like it. I'm sure there is a lot more to Skype that I don't know about. Maybe someone else can fill you in on those things. What has MSN got to offer that would compare?? |

We talk on the phone while he's on the other end - works great ! |
Skype is wonderful! It's also a great way for you moms that are having a kid go away to college next fall to keep in touch and see them!:D |

My camera and mic are built into the computer. I can't live without skype. I love, love, love it. New grandbaby in Seattle, another on the way in Boston. It makes me so happy. Best thing since saddles for horses. |
I am so glad to hear all your happy stories - it is great isn't it? I have a built in mic and camera on my laptop too, so that is why I don't use a mic and camera - but they just plug into your desktop computer just as easy. My husband and I sat on the couch, in our living room last night, with the laptop on the coffee table and just chatted....I even took the laptop outside and 'showed' them the sunset - apparently it gets dark earlier in Florida than here in Ontario!!!:D |

Also, my son (who's in Afghanistan) has a number through Skype. All we have to do is use our regular phone and call that number to talk to him. I'm not sure how this is set up, though. Anyone else?? |
Do you get to see each other though on MSN? On Skype I see my son on my laptop and vice vera... |
i have skype but i never used it maybe i will give it a try |
