little ankle biter My dog puppy (11 weeks) will not stop grabbing onto peoples pants and pulling them. I cant walk anywhere without attacking my pants and I have to drag her all over the house while she growls lol. I scold her and pick her up to move her, but she comes right back. What should I do about this? |
I think she will outgrow it. Sometimes Bonnie will still do this and she is 17 months old. They all do it:rolleyes: and it can be aggravating at times. You could get some bitter apple spray and spray your pants (*test first to make sure it won't stain) When she gets a mouth full of bad taste every time, she may quit. You could use a squirt bottle with water, but she is so young, maybe someone else can make a suggestion. |

Have everyone take their pants off at the door! Correct when she does it. |
Alfie would do this too as a puppy, I would clap my hands sharply and say ''no'' in a stern voice. Took a long time and though he does still occassionally do it for the fun of it he's stopped. The important thing is consistency, dont let you pup do it while your sitting still but correct it while moving. |
Zeke always did that when he was younger!! But we would tell him no and move him. He doesn't do that often, just to get attention every now and then. Oh and be careful, I trip over Zeke a few times. |

I've never had a pants-puller, but I've had my toes chewed on by those sharp little baby teeth plenty of times.:D |
My Zoey started this soon after I got her. She is 15 weeks now and is better about biting and pulling. I tried lots of different things (some on them already mentioned) but I found if I just picked her up and held her out about two feet off the ground and in front of me for about 20 seconds she stopped immediately. Maybe this can work for you. Cherie |
She may outgrow it because both of mine did that when they were younger but they did outgrow it |
I have 2 that are ankle biters. C.J. is a year old and Gracie is 6. Everytime we go, even if it is just outside they throw a fit and grab our ankles, shoe or pant leg to keep us from leaving. A sturn no usually gets them to stop, at the time. |
