Chew proof collars? My little guys are small and I got them engraved dog tags that have our address and phone number in the horrible event that one of them ever went missing (I hope and pray somebody would be honest enough to return them). The problem is I can't get my dogs to wear them - every time I put a collar on them it is chewed off by the morning, I'm assuming they chew them off of eachother. Anybody know of collars that aren't as easily chewed through? I'm sick of buying collars that are wrecked within 24 hours, and they wear their harnesses only for walks and we take them off when we get home. |
My goodness - a lot of yorkie owners must have very naughty puppies! My boys don't ever chew on their collars...or each others...I don't know of any chew proof collars, but if you guys have a petsmart or petco near you, I would maybe check there - sometimes you can find some good stuff there. good luck! also - could they be chewing collars because they have nothing else to chew on? what happens if they get some toys or chewies to have instead? |

I don't know a thing about these. I just googled chew proof collars.:D Dog Collars, Martingale Collars, Leashes & Harnesses So, I hope you can find the miracle you need for those naughty boys.:D |
Be careful!!! Yorkies should never wear collars. |
Lots and lots of Yorkies wear collars with no problems :) As long as you walk them on a harness, it's fine. I prefer Jackson to be wearing a collar w/ tags at all times because if he ever were to get out, I'd want him to be tagged with info, plus he's microchipped. I wish I had advice for you on chew proof collars but fortunately, I've never had that problem before. |

try a good leather collar the round ones not the flat ones my chi mix and my moms chi are both collar chewers and the leather seems to have stopped them if you have to put bitter spray on the collar we did that with Gatsby and in one bite it worked I would also like to say if i am not home i take off Gatsbys collar and harness i have heard too many horror stories about dogs dying because thear collar or harness was caught on the crate |

Bailey has started wearing a silver chain/necklace type collar for his tags when we go out. I can't leave a harness on him, he chews it, so I only use the harness for walks. |

Also, I didn't know they made leather collars for tiny dogs. That might be a good idea too. |
