FLYING with your yorkie :) :animal36 has any one flown with thier yorkie. I am planning a trip to FL. this Dec. and will be flying direct, no lay overs, thank heavens. I will be taking ZOEY with me . she will be in a carrying case that goes under the seat. I am really nervous about putting her through this. she weighs just 6 pounds and will be just 10 mos old then... do you think she is too big for under the seat? do airlines let you board first when carrying on a dog. any info would really make me feel a little easier about traveling with ZOEY. :plane: |
My husband recently flew to Washington State to bring my little Peppy home. At the time Peppy weighed a whopping 2 lbs. 12 ounces. He was a real trooepr -- he had to stay in his crate so hubby took his shoe and sock off and stuck his big toe in the crate for Peppy to snuggle up to. I would call the airline as soon as possible to get all of the details about flying with Zoey and go ahead and make Zoey's reservation. We choose Delta, they were GREAT, however they do have restrictions on how many can travel on each flight. |
My friend took her baby to Texas, She said the flight went great. Under the seat and up in the air they went. Must have been a good flight. Because she's doing it again for Christmas. :D |
Toby is 7 pounds and he fits fine under the seat. Just make sure he's in an airline approved bag, and I would suggest "clipping" your baby to the lead in the carrier. My baby escaped when he was about 6 months old and had a jolly time running all around the airplane. Unfortunately, they do not let you board early. But make sure you make your reservations for him early, as they limit the number of pets allowed on the flight. I'm sure the holiday time will fill up fast with people taking their pets along. I don't give mine anything to sedate him. When he was younger, he cried for a few minutes, but then settled down and went to sleep. |
