Nervous about Surgery Gettin Neutered... I had to take MichaelAngelo to get neutered this mornin and I'm a wreck. I told them to call me after he was out and let me know how he's doing. He has to get some baby teeth pulled too. I'm gonna be a wreck til I hear from them..... |
Good thoughts for your baby, it's always hard when they have surgery! Let us know how he does! Our Wrigley had 14 teeth taken out when she was spayed! |
He will be fine, so just relax. He'll be baco to is old self real fast. My wife has been trying to do it to me for years, but I know where to hide out. |

Dennabelle, sending good thoughts your way. Keep yourself busy today and the time will go quickly. I cleaned house like a crazy woman when my little guy had his surgery. :) Best wishes for your MichaelAngelo. |

Thanks for the laugh..needed that. Thanks for all the well wishes. I have everything ready for him when he gets back. I had ordered a soft collar from Bo. I made sure I told them he had a reaction to a shot last time so I hope they take caution with him and watch him close. That is what worries me so. How long does it take for them to usually bounce back???? His K9s were the only teeth I seen that has to come out But they may see more once they get in there... |
a couple of days. Neutering as not as bad as spaying. Just try to keep him from bouncing and running. He will sleep when he gets home. Well, most will, but all are different. In a week, he will be back to 100% |
Ok ,The vet called only one testicle has dropped so two incisions are gonna have to be made. Anybody went thru this?:( |
Aw sending good get well wishes for your baby, I know he will be fine, you.....not so much;) These little guys are so resilient. He will be a little mushburger today but by morning he will be fine. Actually my Wally had only one testicle drop. They were fortunate though that they could get to it with only one incision. I know my Wally's brothers had only one testicle also and they had 2 incisions. They were fine. It is that the testicle is just too far up in the belly to reach it through the 1st incision. Best wishes. He gets extra hugs and kisses that's all!!! |
Sending lots of good thoughts to MichaelAngelo for a speedy recovery. |
It's common in animals, and people. Well, male people! No biggie, and will not impair recovery time much if at all. It may have eventually dropped. How old is your little man? |
He is 6 1/2 months old. |
Sometimes it drops as they get older, sometimes not. Either way, he will be fine. I guess that is why I am a believer in not to neuter too soon, but again, that is my opinion. I always waited until the males were developed. Just keep him from rough housing for a while. |
Dena, sending good thoughts and prayers for MichaelAngelo! He will do just fine and be back in your arms before you know it! Hot Rod was a little out of it for a day or two after his neuter. He also had 14 teeth taken out! Will be waiting to hear that he's back in your arms. :) |
I would have waited but startin to hike leg. Hope this will keep him from marking so bad. I have waited on the female she is over a year and she is going next month (if not in heat). I do not want grand-furbabies by no means.;) |
I called the vet since they didnt call me back. They told me he was just waking up and holding his head up. Said he did ok I can pick him up at 3:30....i will be there on the dot to get my baby..cant wait to have him home. |
So glad everything went well. I know, it's nerve racking! |
Aw poor little guy!!! :( They are so pityful when they are groggy! |

So glad everything went well!!! |
Oliver got "tutored" today, too (18 weeks). I thought it was a little early and he was too small, but my mom's vet said he was fine. They are planning on keeping him over night though (we knew about that before hand.) |

update He is home and doing good. Walking around. He is a little red in the ears and eyes little swollen like it was with that shot reaction. He got his rabies too and SIX baby teeth pulled. So something gave him reaction which I told them to give him some benadryl and explained what happened last time. And they did.. Bells cant understand why he cant play, have to keep him up except to use bathroom she is rough with him at times (4lbs vs 12 lbs.)lol thanks yall for the well wishes, and they let me have his teeth lol...:D |
glad everything went well :) my boys were neutered on sunday, and they're doing pretty well. I am having the darndest time keeping them from jumping on/off the furniture, though, and I'm terrified they're gonna rip stitches... I'm glad your little guy did well, wishing him a fast recovery!!! |
