teapot Got lily weighed today and she was a whopping 2kg and is only 10weeks:eek: my vet asked if there was great dane mixed in there hehe. I suspect from his reaction that my little Lily is going to be a big girl. He said he would expect her to be at least 8-10lb anyone any ideas of expected adult weight? Having two big Labs already im used to big dogs so she just looks tiny to me. I better hold of buying her size small clothes until she reaches 6 months the vet said once she reaches 6 months she will stop growing and maybe only fill out more and as she seems to be gaining 1lb every 2 weeks i could be looking at a big girl, which will fit in fine as she will be able to stand up to the two big labs :D yvonne xx |
I have 2 teapots and love them! But think about this...I buy turkeys that weigh more than 10#...so she still going to be a little furbutt! |
Little miss Zoey weighs 10 pounds! She is very long though. The funny thing is, her breeder told me she would be a teacup lol. I know there is no such thing but I never expected her to get this big! Zoey grew out of her clothes so fast, she is in a medium now and we still have a little room. Now I have all these "baby" clothes that I can't part with...maybe another "teacup" yorkie could fix that lol. I also have a big lab, so her size is good for our house also! |
Welcome to YT:D Lily is part Great Dane... he he:p. It's my understanding yorkies can grow and change colors for up to two years. If she is a bigger girl it could be a blessing. You won't have as many worries about her getting hurt as easily as a smaller pup:). |
So I think that's close to 4 1/2 lbs? The rule of thumb is to double their weight at 12 weeks, but nothing is exact. Wrigley was 1.13lbs at 12 1/2 weeks and she's now 6lbs even. (she's almost 4yrs old.) However she had a big growth spurt after she turned 1! She was actually under 4lbs before then! :) Crosley (she's a Yorkie-Poo) was like 3 1/2 lbs when we adopted her from another family and she was a little over three months and she's 17-18lbs now full grown! |
thank-you everyone whatever size she turns out to be she is going to be loved:D and i must say i like the idea of her outgrowing her clothes and me being forced to get another Yorkie so that they can get further used:thumbup: i wonder if my husband would go for that hehe yvonne xx |
I have 1 teapot!!! :D My Trix is 15lbs!!!!! and she is 1-1/2yrs. My Pebbles on the other hand is 4lbs and she is 2yrs. Who knows just like "skin" kids!! Who knows??? I call the big one my "porky yorkie" :p |
I'm convinced Rhett is part rottweiler! He's going to be a big boy, too. But who cares? He's going to be loved no matter how big he gets. |
They are not porkey they are just "big boned" :D |
yeah big bonned and fluffy hehe:thumbup: yvonne xx |
Yup, Jackson's my teapot. He was 6lbs at 12 weeks old, 8.6lbs at 16 weeks old and then maintained at about 12lbs until 1 year old. He's now 1.5 years old and according to the last vet visit, is 16lbs. I think he mostly gained muscle mass because his clothes, harnesses, collars never had to be resized or anything. He's also changed colors quite a bit. As a pup, he was all black/tan like all Yorkie pups, then his whole back was a silver until a few weeks ago when he got groomed and his back got darker again, now it's lightening up AGAIN, lol.... so ya never know what you're gonna get. |
