Kong Chew Toys - Are they good for Yorkies? Hi! Has anyone used the Kong Chewing Toys with their Yorkie? The girls are teething right now and I would love to get them into these. Any hints? Are they just too big for yorkies? I tried stuffing them with dry food at first but they can't bite them hard enough to get food out. I used peanut butter but then they just lick them. I want something that they will chew on and play with while we are out during the day. Thanks! |
Kong Chew Toys My puppies did not bite the Kong toys. They just licked the stuff out of them. They did however love ice cubes. |
Hey...I actually got Oscar a Kong toy that is not the one you stuff. It is a red bone made out of the Kong red rubber material with a rope attached to each end of the bone. That way you hold the rope and the pup chews/pulls on the rubber bone end! It is wonderful and Oscar has enjoyed hours playing with his. I am sure the rope will wear out before the Kong, but Oh Well!!! These babies love to play...it is a challenge to get toys that will hold their attention, but when you find one, you have found a treasure for sure. It does my heart good to see Oscar having so much fun!!! What we won't do for these babies!!! |
i bought Chelsey a tiny kong, its really small so she can handle it on her own, its handy for her to put her little sharp puppy teeth in instead of in my fingers :D i also put some "fresh meat for dogs" in mixed with her dry food, it keeps her occupied for some time while i do my work around here, my lab has the giant kong and loves it, the kongtoy's also make good icecreams for summer time, fill them with yoghurt and fresh fruit and pop it in the freezer for a few hours ;) |
