Yorkie Pup Habits Overall I have a very good little girl. However, I'm getting concerned with her barking and growling. She only does this when she wants to play and boy does she love to play. But when she barks at us while she is playing, her ears go backwards; therefore, should I be concerned and is this something that I need to control now? I think it's harmless play, but i'm not sure. Also, cesar says dogs live in the moment and they are just dogs not human beings; however, when we play with her and she has the ball; when we go and reach for it, she will move!!! She already has it planned that when you reach for the ball she is going to run and the chase begins. Therefore, some dogs do think ahead and plan. Selena |
Samy also runs for it as soon as I have the toy in my hand... and sometimes I change the direction in which I throw and he gets confused as he has already started running one way so then has to reverse and go the other way. He certainly plans, so I am sure your girl also plans ahead. |
lol, sounds like you have a very smart cutie pie on your hands. :) I don't think that the barking and growling is anything to worry about. :) Sounds as though she is just being a puppy. If barking in general is something you don't want then you may want to teach her not to bark. Or try at least, lol. I'm fortunate that mine don't bark when hey are playing with us although Maggie will grumble and sorta bark at Hot Rod when they are playing with each other. It is a really cute sound, and you can tell it comes from deep within her. |
Cerise makes little quick growls and short barks when I'm either cooking (she's talking to me telling me it smells good) when I'm fixing her plate (she's then telling me to hurry up and fix mine too so we can eat) or when I'm getting dressed (depending on the time of day and what I'm putting on she's saying either "are you going to work" or "are you taking me with you") :D But when I get home from work I know it's "Mommy I'm happy you're home to be with ME" |
Miloh does the same exact thing when we're playing or at times when he notices I'm not paying attention. :aimeeyork I've also wondered if it's normal for him to bark at me but I've figured out it's the only way for them to communicate and get your attention. :) |
