haha, that's got 4 month old written all over it...with the pottying, I don't really know, as my boys were outside trained, cause they shredded their potty pads. with the nipping, you can take one finger and pop him on the nose every time he nips. when joey and tank were puppies, i would pop them on the nose, say "no" or "ow" firmly, and they quickly got the picture. Now, if I say "ouch" or something, they immediately stop what they're doing, because they know they're causing pain (like...during playtime). They're to the point that they know it's ok to put their teeth on me, but nobody else. I wouldn't really even call it biting...they'll put my hand in their mouth, but it's so light it does absolutely nothing, haha. i wish you luck!!! |

It's dried bull penis! But WAIT!!! It's 100% fully digestable, unlike rawhides, which should NEVER be given. Rawhides have been known to cause intestinal blockages, which can lead to surgery or death! If you are uneasy with bullysticks, you can also get wishbones (dried bull achilles tendon) which last almost as long as bully, or texas toothpicks (dried and smoked cow tail tips) which are way affordable but don't last as long. |
i have a 4.5 month old pup (not a yorkie, but still a pup!) who i've been trying to house train. i've never used pee pads - just trying to get her to go outside. she runs free if i'm sitting in the living room where i can watch her, and after about a month of taking her outside all the time, she's started peeing RIGHT in front of the door when she has an accident. now, i have 2 small children so sometimes they get ahold of her without my permission and she has accidents elsewhere. however, it seems like she DOES know to go outside which is why she goes at the door (as close to outside as she can get) without yelling at me! your pup will catch on - at least that's what i keep telling myself! |
by the way, when my pup would have an accident in the house, i would make her look at it, and i would soak it up with papertowels. i would say, "OUTSIDE!" and then i would take the pee soaked towels and the pup outside and sit the towels on the grass where i wanted her to go - i would put her down and she would sniff around at the towels. i read somewhere to do this and i think it works. she ALWAYS has accidents by the door and she just looks at me as if to say, "don't you know i need to go out?" |
Joeyandtanksmom - Thanks. how old are your dogs that they now just 'hold' your hand between their teeth? capt_noonie - as soon as you said Quote:
Luvmypuppee - it sounds like your pup is doing better with the training than Rolo. at least he finds he way to the door. |
