Any idea why he does this? Does anyone know why after Louis does his "business" (usually #2), he starts kicking his back legs really fast? (Almost like he is trying to cover it up with grass.) |
Samy does this when he shakes his body really fast... he usually does it when he is over the covers on my bed.. he ripped my sheet once doing this. Maybe it is a male thing? I have never seen females do it! |
I don't know why they do it, but it's so comical and makes me laugh. Mine do that too...I call it the donkey kick! LOL |
My Scottie Dog does that too. I believe it is to spread the scent. :rolleyes: |

LOL Miss Zoey does this when she is mad. Almost always when I put clothes on her or just after I yell! She is so funny and I think it is the greatest thing! After she does it, I ask her if she is mad and she barks at me. She also knows that she gets my attention when she does it lol! |

Haha Bella does it too! After she goes potty and also when she's trying to get Rocco to play. And like KristenDanielle said, when she wants my attention. It's hysterical. |
Out of 6 toy dogs I've had (3 Maltese, 3 Yorkie), I've only had one that did this .... a female Yorkie. It is supposed to kick up their scent. When she would do it, I would say "be a bull, be a bull!" then eventually I could use that phrase to get her to go potty on command. |
i think my aunt's little girl does it when she's done going #2. help me out if you see this one Karrie. Sadie doesn't really do it, she kicks sometimes for other things but not after going poo |

Almost all of my yorkies do this after #1 and number #2 both male and female. What I've read it really has little to do with them going potty,they have scent glands in their paws and thats why they are kickin it up like that.I will have 6 of them tearin it up in their fenced in area needless to say by the end of summer the grass is pretty trashed back there. |

Crosley kicks up her feet, it's not a donkey kick, but like a shuffling of her feet after she goes. Wrigley kind of kicks all her feet when she wants us to get up and serve her! We call it her little "temper tantrum." We also call it her "royal highness" moments! |
I don't know guys..My little guy always comes running to us from the bathroom after doing number two with a huge smile and does what we call the "dookie Dance"..lol..He keeps wiping his feet until we go and see what he did and than we give him a treat...He only does it when Its me and my husband..If someone is around he usually won't do it and if he goes to his daycare place when we go away he doesn't do it there...I have no clue, but it always puts a smile on our faces!! |
My Sophie does it with all four feet when she wants to start something. That means "I want to play!!" It is sooo cute, well I thing about everything she does is sooo cute. |
