People who do not like the smell of dogs should not own dogs. How is that poor little thing even going to get trained if he is penned in the garage. I really hope the OP is able to buy him. |
Oh no, this makes me sad. Poor pup, alone in the garage. Personally I really don't think Yorkies smell. My Lily doesn't smell much at all. So I really don't get it (not that any dog should be left alone in the garage no matter how they smell...). Yorkies also need a lot of training and socializing, and these owners are sure to get a dog with serious behavior problems if they don't do that. At least that is my experience with my yorkie. I spend a lot of time training it, really, a lot! Yorkies are very small, but they sure are terriers in every way! I hope these owners see reason before it has gone too far and they have a nervous, aggressive wreck in that garage! :( |
You think this is said i was at petsmart sunday and this lady was carying around a very small dog and a smaller chi. I asked if it was a yorkie and of course it was i asked how old and she said 6 weeks she just picked it up that day. I could not believe it this dog was so small and already going to a new home. |
How sad what is wrong with people !!! they get a dog and they do not understand all that is envolved that is why the end up neglected and abused and in animal shelters. I just don't understand people like that !! My Patches Is king of the roost. |

When I got Bailey - I was completely overwhelmed and no doubt these people are overwhelmed too. Its very difficult for new pet owners to fully understand the impact these puppies have on their life. Reading books is no comparison to the constant work and worry of raising a puppy. Most people on this site are veteran yorkie owners who can't understand what newbie pet owners go through. So, instead of judging and critizing these people - lets help them over the puppy hump. Once the puppy learns basic house manners - it will become part of the family. Help the pet owners help the yorkie!!! |

Yep, I agree the solution is not to give up and certainly do not put the puppy in the garage. The OP said they love the puppy. Its only been a week - so lets give the new owners some suggestions to help them overcome their challenges and give them a chance to adjust. There are other solutions to putting the puppy in the garage and/or re-homing it. |

I suppose if they will not let you have the dog, you could offer to take the poor baby and train it. I know it would be hard for you to give it back, but atleast the little sweetie would not be in the garage alone. It is too cool at night in S IL to be in the garage. |

They are not judgemental because some people do get Yorkies for a status symbol and then treat them badly when they realize that having a Yorkie puppy is REAL LIFE WORK!!! It's very selfish to think a puppy has to fit into someones life without rocking the boat...having peeing and pooping accidents because of not being trained. I don't buy into the being overwelmed attitude for EVERY new puppy owner. Pets aren't for everyone and some people need to face that fact. |
She'll die in a garage - it's too hot and there is not enough air...that's my opinion anyway. They sound wreckless and it infuriates me. Good for you for reacting violently. Some people are just clueless. Ask her if she would like to be locked up with no air...if you are not willing to clean up after a puppy then DO NOT GET ONE! ask her this actually...if she had a baby (i pray she doesnt at this rate!) would she lock the baby in the garage all day, ALONE, because it messed itself? they are BABIES, animal or human it's the same issue and they deserve only the best love, care and attention. It's irresponsible, and I feel that if she does in fact do this you should call your local SPCA or Naimal Welfare and have the dog removed. Im enraged for you...don't let this slide. |
Sorry..."ANIMAL Welfare! lol! I'm so mad im typing too fast! |
