I Think I might survive. I had back surgery last Wednesday and Gatsby was staying with my best friend she called me on Friday and told me he had refused food and was only drinking a very limited amount of water(she pulled the bowls in the liveing room so she could watch constantly). she called the vet who said bring him in they got him to drink some sugar water and sent him home i talked to him on the phone that night and my best friend says he ate a little that night and the next morning well i begged my doctors to let him come and see me but they said no i begged and begged and begged then a nurse found out that Gatsby was a therapy dog and told me she thought we could work something out the doctor still said no because he is only certified for nursing homes well some more prodding and he agreed to meet Gatsby so my best friend brought him to the hospital and the doctor and my nurse went down and meant him and they wear so impressed that the doctor said if he had a bath and then come straight to the hospital he could visit me for 30 min well we got our visit last night and it was wonderful the doctor and nurse wear so impressed they said when we wear ready they wold both write him a recommendation for hospital certification ( in my area you have to have two recommendations one personal and one professional) I feel so much better today and i talked to my best friend and she said Gatsby is doing better as well im supposed to go home Thursday or Friday so i think i make it until then. |
wow that is awesome that a doctor would even take the time. Hope your recovery is swift! |
I'm glad that you got to see Gatsby, and I'm sure that he got to see you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. |
awwww, how sweet! Glad your little guy got to come visit you! I think more hospitals should allow it. I mean, pets are so good for people who are sick or recovering from something. I do get the whole bathe and bring right over thing though! I hope you have a quick recovery and are back up and about in no time! :) |
Sounds like you have an awesome furbaby and an awesome Doctor. Most doctors would not have been as considerate. Hope you get well soon. |
That's so nice that the doctor agreed to meet Gatsby and allowed him to visit. I hope you have a speedy recovery and that Gatsby will eat and drink for your friend. |
Hope you feel better very soon and you and Gatsby are together again permanently! :getwellso |
Laughter and our furbabies (maybe not in that order) are the best medicine!! Best wishes on your recovery. |
What a great story. So glad you're doing better. You'll feel even better when you get to go home and spend time with your little furbaby! :) |
What a nice story! I know if I were in the hospital, Twinkie wouldn't eat either. They love and miss us so much! I pray for a speedy recovery and I can't wait for you and your baby to be together again! Good luck and take care!!!;) |
I'm so glad they let him come in. I'm sure it did you both a world of good. I think that now he "knows" where you are that he will be ok - just not himself. Here they allow them to visit. Kacee and I have been rambling down the halls and the drs would stop and visit with her a minute.:D |
Thats great! I cant imagine being sick and away from my fubabies they are what help me feel better... and there is no way mine would ever be allowed in a hospital (their behavior, not my choice!), :p |
That's a great story, and it sounds like the visit did both of you a lot of good. |
