Would value input from more experienced owners. I have done a lot of research and have decided that I am a good home for a Yorkie. I have talked to 2 breeders and have 4 books now on the breed. I do not expect to be surprised much. I know each baby is different so there might be some surprises still. I would love to hear any advise that you might have on potty training and just overall advice for a first time Yorkie owner. A little background. I have owned Papillons before so I am use to the single coat and fine bone structure. I will be getting a puppy. I am actually thinking about getting two so that they can be a companion to each other when I need to leave the house. I am not getting them from the same litter. They will actually be about 2 months difference in age. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Jackie |
I potty trained Twinkie to use the pee pads. If you see your little one going potty, somewhere other than the pee pad, pick them up and place them on the pad. I would always say "potty" when I placed Twinkie on the pad. Make sure you give them lots and lots of praise! That is the most important thing. Of course treats helps too! Good Luck! |

Is your breeder already starting to potty train? The breeder we got Wrigley from at 12 weeks already had her pretty much trained, so she was a breeze when we got her home! Good luck! |
Knowing what the breeder is doing is key. Hopefully you will be able to continue potty training the same way. Consistent schedules make it easier. Good Luck!!! |
