Paris Pancake We have had Paris Pancake for 1 week she is 10 weeks old and over all pretty good. She is doing most of her bathrooming outside, she sleeps through the night, sits and lays down on command (okay a treat helps) plays pretty good. Goes for a walk (only on the second half on the way home) obviously chews but we have other dogs so we were ready for that. The only two areas I need help on so far are... bitting yikes she does it alot and just about the time one of the kids is done with her and thinks she is a beast she then crawls up on there lap and is all loving. The other one is not a big deal but she does not want to walk on the first part of the daily walk with the other dogs. She does the second part like a crazy women but the first part I almost have to drag her to get her to go. On the way back we have to run to keep up with her (We have started making her heal). Oh Puppy hood! |
At 10 weeks I don't think she is doing to badly. Walking on leash and for any distance isn't easy for a puppy. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. |
Welcome to YT!! Congrats on your new furbaby. It sounds like she is doing well. Mother's and siblings usually teach the bite inhibition, which is why yorkie puppies stay with mom until 12 weeks old. Since baby Paris Pancake is already home, it'll be your job to teach her those sharp little baby teeth can do some real harm. You can squeal to let her know it hurts or you can say ouch, turn your back or get up and walk away so she will eventually learn that bitting, or play bitting, gets her no attention. It would also be a good idea not to take her out yet. She's tiny (age wise) and doesn't have full immunity yet. It is recommended by the great breeders on this site that you wait two weeks after a pup's last set of shots for full immunity. I hope this information helps!!!:D |
Love her name!! Welcome to YT! Hope you enjoy everything here and if there is anything I can do to help please holler!! Looking forward to getting to know you and your babies better! Hope to see you around YT soon! Have a great day! :-) |
:wavey: Hello and Welcome to YT! Miss Paris Pancake sounds like she is doing very well for her age. The biting and walking, will get better with time, patience, consistent training and age. Replace the hands and fingers with toys. That is a great distraction. When Twinkie was young, she would watch my feet as I walked and nibble on my ankles. She is 8 months now, so that is no longer a problem. The puppy stage is trying, yet so wonderful all at the same time. Good luck and enjoy the new addition to your family! ;) |
