My yorkie refuses the bow! Sophia is 5 mo old & HATE wearing a hair bow! She's so cute but knocks it out within 5 min of wearing it :( I've tried every kind of bow.. HELP! |
In the same boat Hi! My Zoey does the same thing! I went to target and found these tiny, itty bitty clips. They came in like six colors to a pack. I thought I'd give them a try and to my amazement, they were so tiny that she didn't even feel them in her hair! the brand was goody girls and they were for children. Good luck!:) |
Aren't you afraid if it falls off, of Zoey swallowing it? I pick up any tiny little bit of anything on the floor, because Mr. Darcy might eat it!! |
Of course I have to watch her! They don't come out easily though. I take them out of her hair when I can no longer watch her closely. But all in all they work well. Miss Zoey thinks she is a billy goat, picking up everything on the floor so we DO have to be careful lol. |
First get her used to wearing her hair up in a band alone and put it up daily. When you add the bow...first place a band in her hair and the band from the bow underneath this one. When I began using bows...after putting one in...I always distracted their attention by playing and they forget it's there. It takes a bit but they do get used to it. |
Have you tried that bows that Mimimomo sells? They are small and have clips. She is still a puppy and if you keep putting her hair up daily she will get use to it~just give it time. Make sure that you take a look at Mimimomo's bows you will not be sorry. :) |

I used to put the tiny elastics with a clip-on bow in Lula's hair. The problem being they are uncomfortable and pull her hair too much so she rubs her head on every surface she can find to make it better (ruining the beautiful hair-do i took time to give her). I got Lula a tiny little metal clip with rhinestones on it when I went on a trip to Brazil (it was her souvenir) and decided to try putting it in her hair without and elastic to see if it would fall out. She doesn't even notice its there. No tugging, no rubbing. clip stays in and we both stay happy! today I picked up the goodie ones (they are a little bigger then the one clip I got her in Brazil) and they are perfect! There is a little rubber on them to keep them in place but don't pull. As much as we could "make" our dogs where these ribbons and bows and pull their little ponys tighter and tighter, knowing my little lady is comfortable and looking good is a very very god feeling. |

I used the itty bitty clips on Armani when she was a baby too. They get use to it, she wears bows every day now without a problem. |
The best thing to do is to get her used to a topknot made with a little lightweight grooming band. Only when she gets used to the feel of it should you add a bow. If you are using bows with barrettes, they are heavy and pinch more than bows on bands. They also slip out much more easily than bows on bands. They are also a choking hazard. |
