Oh - awaiting anxiously - what's up????
 

I have been looking for a little girl Yorkie to adopt this Spring. I finally had a Kijjii ad come on this morning, at 8 seconds posting, "Yorkie puppies ready to go middle of May" - yay. I emailed and said what I was looking for, but needed information and location to come and see them. The address is less than an hour from my house. I also called the number on the ad, and left a message.....that was at 7 am this morning - haven't heard back yet, and it is now almost noon. I keep checking my email and nothing, so frustrating, and now I am wondering????? legit????? they said they were now accepting deposits, but no way would I 'send' deposit - I would need to go face to face, check out the place and get a receipt if I decided all was OK.....I had my hopes up:(

Patience is a virtue. ;) Could be any number of reasons you haven't gotten a reply....they're at work, they're busy with Sat morn activities...or they aren't home at all.

It hasnt been very long yet at all.

I contacted breeders who took a week or more to get back to me... they may have a lot of inquiries to go through, they likely have other activities besides the pups to keep up with.

Give it time.

Just wondering :confused: Why would you be looking at Kijiji for a new pup when you are a member of YT and there are plenty of member here that breed? If it were me I would be looking right here, asking LOTS of questions, and getting referrals from other members who have purchased puppies.

Kijiji is full of brokers and bybers peddling their dogs that you need to be eliminated to find the "good" ones. Seems like a lot of unnecessary effort when you have a great resource at your fingertips. :)

Kijjii is not a place to be looking for a yorkie from.

You've got one of the best breeders almost in your back yard. Betty Anne Durrer/Durrer Yorkshire Terriers. Google for her website.

I live 2 hours north of Toronto Canada. I haven't located any puppies at all close to me yet. I have gone online every morning, putting in different searches on Google - either none come up or they are nowhere close to me - lots in the US (where I bought Mr. Darcy when I was down there in Florida, last year, and went to the breeders)

Is this in Canada?

Lorraine Hayes/Pastoral does too. She bred Pastoral Johnnie Handsome. one of the top producer of champions. However, Lorraine does not have a website.

I agree i would never buy anything off of kijiji. I get mad at bf for even looking on there.

carrrreful. I found shea puppy in the paper...The lady lived on a GORGEOUS farm, lots of nice animals...I love my puppy, but she really got one over on me. I should have been smart enough to do my homework, but I really loved shea the second i met her...took her that day. turns out, shea was from missouri(i bought her at a lady's farm in nj) and looked into the information the lady gave me when I got home...she was from a place called " dog gone kennels" this place has been inspected and cited and fined several times for being a puppy mill and not being clean....dont know how the lady ever got shea, when i called her, she wouldn't respond...then I text her with "how did you come to get this puppy...i have looked online and she is from a puppy mill??!! I am so angry. I am so against puppy mills" the only thing she wrote back to me was, " no, no puppy mill" I asked her about 10 times and she WOULD NOT answer my question as to how she came to get shea. She calls me (5 days later!!!!) and says, the puppy was her friends dogs puppy and that her friend got her from that place and didnt know she was from there...like im stupid enough to believe that. The lady is presently running the same ad in the paper as she had before! Suddenly, she has somehow gotten more yorkie puppies??? Amazing isn't it? The lady must buy from puppy mills and then up the prices for people like me who dont do their homework before hand. Don't get me wrong, LOOOOVE Shea, but she was not healthy when I got her...Moral of the story, careful where you find your puppy. It is a big decision and worth the wait. when you search online try looking for breeders that have kennel names in their website...usually means they have quality dogs and they are able to show their dogs. And when you visit the house, make sure you feel good about the environment and ask to see mommy.
