I am a nervous wreck! My Daisy is getting spayed tomorrow:( She is only 2.8 lbs. I know this is the best for her,but I am so nervous. I have asked the vet a thousand question about the procedure and definitely getting pre blood work. Please say a prayer everything goes well. |
Prayers for you and Daisy. |
You are not the only one I was the same way with my Zoey. She was done last month on the 22nd. All will go well and I will be thinking of you and your baby tomorrow. It is the best for her and you won't regret it. Zoey was indeed mad at me when I brought her home but after I tucked her into her bed, she rolled over to show me her belly, and as I kissed her belly she kissed the top of my head. It was so cute, now when I ask her if she wants me to kiss her booboo belly, she rolls right over! Your baby is so tiny! how old is she? Zoey and I will be praying hard :) |
My Sofia was 8 months old and weighed 2lbs 5oz when she was spayed. I was just as nervous as you are. She did great, she took a couple of days to get back to her old self, but she bounced back pretty fast. You have done all you can do where your vet is concerned. Just hang in their, try to keep yourself as busy as you can. I spent the whole time shopping for presents for my little one. She was thrilled, she had a new bed and new toys, clothes and anything else I could find for her. I probably spent more on gifts than I did for her surgery. She went in one month later to have 7 baby teeth pulled. Again after a day or two she was back to normal. She is 10 months now and 2.8 lbs. Good luck tomorrow, I'll send good thoughts your way.:D:D |

I will keep Daisy in my prayers. |
Prayer sent your way |
Sending prayers for her, and you.:hands: My Maddie was about the same size and she did really well. When you drop her off it doesn't hurt to ask if she will be the first one done during the morning, some vets schedule multiple spay/neuter procedures for the day and if you ask that she is first then she wont have to go so long without eating. I also would recommend having her on IV fluids during the procedure. I am sure that Daisy will do really well. |
Ask them to have her on fluids during the procedure. My vet insisted on blood work and fluids during the spay of my 4lb Morkie....my 6lb Morkie didn't need it as he was big enough. See if they can have her on fluids too. I'm sure it will all go perfectly fine. :) |
aww...i'm sure it will go well. i'll be taking my pup in about a month (she's 9 lbs and will probably grow a little before then) but it's always scary! i think she will hate me for leaving her! and wonder when i pick her up why in the world i did that! i've taken a child in for sugery before though so realistically i know people AND dogs bounce back quickly. it's over before they know what happened. do you have to leave her over night? i had a cat spayed years ago and i had to leave her all night. i go to the vet in the morning for shots and i'm going to ask their procedure - i'm hoping i can pick her up the same day. |
