Yellow, yellow everywhere!! I live in Georgia. Spring is beautiful here, with all things blooming - color, color everywhere. But along with the beautiful comes the ugly. Bright yellow pollen covers everything - porches, decks, cars, and if you are outside long enough, people! When you walk on the grass puffs of yellow cover your feet (especially if you are barefoot). My poor little babies come inside with yellow noses and feet, and probably tummies as they are so close to the ground. I really hope this nasty stuff is not harmful to them.....anyone know? |
I was wondering that as well. I live in Florida and we have that same yucky yellow pollen. It is everywhere. I feel for you. |
Same here :( |
I don't think so. Unless your furbutt is allergic to pollen, I believe it's okay for them. But don't quote me on that :p |
Pollen has been terrible here as well. Yuck. It seems to bother ME way more than my Jackson. He's had some eye boogies in the mornings that the vet said were probably allergies, as pollen count has been high, but he doesn't mind them. |
I heard about that when they were talking about Augusta on the news. It must be something else. |
I'm from Georgia too and it is awful---the worst I've seen. Sarge went outside today and came back inside with a yellow beard. :animal-pa Cathy, mom to :aimeeyork Sarge and :aimeeyork Lexi :animal-pa |

I live in AL and I feel your pain. It's pretty bad down here. |
We are covered in yellow pollen also. When I bring Sophie Kate in I wipe her down with a baby wipe for her sake and I do not want it on my floors, furniture and bed. |
Pollen count was 5733 yesterday. Anything over 120 is considered extremely high. Atlanta Allergy Prince will not be able to go out for a few weeks, because CT and pollen is not a good mix. This amount is very harmful to most people and pets...they recommend keeping your pets indoors, and if they do go out, wipe their body with a moist cloth to help minimize breathing problems. A lot of people here are wearing masks over their nose and month and protective glasses! |
dallas ga dallas ga here, and yes it is terrible worst i have seen and i came from florida. its already raining so maybe that will help some...i had my windows open and when i went to wipe my wood floors wow! lets just say i have some major dusting to do now. my baby seems fine, he was out with me yesterday while i mowed the lawn but i keep him in his stoller so i could keep my eye on him. |
Wow! Anyone have pictures of this stuff? |
We have the same thing happening here and Cerise had all kinds of debris in her hair last night after we came in from our walk. She sneezed a couple of times too when we started walking. |
Ours hasn't started yet. Usually around the end of April into middle of May. It's a mess. Last year was so bad I hope this year is better. The weather has been so hot and flower's are blooming and trees are turning green however I haven't seen any yet. Strange. I remember last year putting on my windshiled wipers to get it off the windshield it was so thick. It comes into your house with the windows open and settles all over. Yuk. What a mess. It must be terrible for those with asthma or allergies. |
